i see an the front page that game-ex supports MAME to emulator mapping so that i can use an older version of mame for one game that doesnt work to well with the newer versions of mame, how to i set this up? its simpsons bowling after 129 the music is broken and drivers me nuts nothing else seemed to change with the gameplay so i want to use the old version of mame for this game

  1. Set up the alternate version of MAME as an emulator.
  2. Use mameemumap.ini to tell GameEx what games you want to run on the alternate emulator. (There is a GUI for this file, but I don't remember what it's called).
  3. Turn on the mame map file in GameEx.

The reason that I ask, is that I started writing a GUI for Mame Mapping yesterday, and if there already is one, I don't want to continue.

When I click on the Icon for Mame Mapping in the Start\GameEx folder, it opens the mameemumap.ini file in notepad.

I've never known of one either. I always remember it working as you said Tempest! I would continue with your GUI.
