How do I get back the ability to filter by name

I have installed Game Ex a couple of times, looked through all of the settings and I can't figure this one out. I tried to search the forum, but just couldn't find the answer to this one. I (after a previous install) used to be able to start typing a name in the rom sections and it would immediately start listing any roms that matched the string that I typed. I don't know what I did differently but I just cant figure how to get that back. The only setting that I could find is the "Alpha Paging" but this only does the first character, so if I was looking for Ms pacman I could just type "Ms" and get a list of all of the games starting with "Ms" Can someone help me before I pull all of my hair out?

I think I am confusing this with either mame by itself or mame32. I am assuming that GameEx never had this feature. The forum admin is welcome to delete this thread.

GameEx does have a search feature. I didn't reply before, because it doesn't work the way you describe. You may want to check it out though...

Could you describe how the feature you are talking about works and how to turn it on? I do know about the search feature but it doesn't appear in GameEx lite though.
