Videos have sound but no picture

Hello,

I've installed the latest version of gameex and am having some video problems.

When I try and play a movie, it comes up with sound, but just a black screen. I updated directx and the video codecs, but still no dice.

I'm running an updated copy of Windows Vista on a Dell Inspiron 1520

Anyone have suggestions? I can play the same videos in any other video program on the system no problems.

Its your codecs, I know you said you updated them, but which ones? Id uninstall the codecs you installed and then install ffdshow or the klite codec pack, there are some other forum members here that recommend other packs that I am sure are fine, I just do not have experince with them.

A codec issue describes your symptom.
