rom info stored

in what folder or what is the file that mame or gameex stores info for each rom, i am having a strange issue with rampage world tour, when i start the game it shows 43 credits, then when i try to start it takes away the credits but takes 5 or 6 times of hitting start button to start the game but its only in this game so is there a file i can delete or a way reset this rom?

You probably need to check out your MAME/ini/<romname>.ini file. You can safely delete it if you want, but it's ASCII so you can take a look at it first.

I think you meant - MAME/cfg/<romname>.cfg

this is driving me nuts! the problem started after i redid my mame cabinet i have a slikstik classic i have all the settings correct as far as i can tell, and all of my other games seem to be ok but rampage world tour. if i am playing a 1 player game and i am using the left joystick the gorrilla mover fine but hitting any of the 3 buttons to the right he kicks punches and jumps but when he kicks i hear not the correct sound but i hear the sound of a coins insert, them if i get out of the game and start again i have as many credits as i kicked. and with like 50 or so credits you would think i could hit player game start? but i have have to hit it 4 or 5 times for the game to start? and it is removing credits every time i hit start.

has anyone every seen this? if i didnt ever play this game i wouldnt care but there must be some other games not working that i havent found yet.

i have tried it with gameex running command line version of mame both 134 and 127 and i have tried mameui 134 by itself and the same thing.

I didn't check, but I thought the credit info was stored in a different file than the cfg stuff. I know a lot of the configuration stuff is there though, so I certainly could be wrong.

does anyone know what the keys to press on the keyboard for player one on rampage world tour? on my slikstik the 3 buttons to the right of joystick 1 are 7 h 9 is that correct? i hooked up my old trusty x-arcade and i have no problem anymore with rampage wt its only with the slikstik
