Ok so I decided to install mameui32 latest build because it was able to run more games and run them more fluently, but the problem is that when i did that game ex will show up with 8000 games. I have filters enabled but it doesnt seem to be working at all, I have searched the forums but it seems as though no one else has had this problem? like I said when I update list in game ex it shows up with 8000 games not all of which I even have so its obviously not using the filters and I have no clue why. I have enabled no clones only working builds, and no adult games along with the japan germany and all that junk filter. If anyone can help me that would be great

I'm not sure what you mean by "it was able to run more games and run them more fluently". MAME32 uses the same core as standard MAME. The only difference is that UI includes a Windows based GUI that can make some things easier for beginning users. The only reason I can think that you would see a benefit would be if you were comparing a different version of MAME and MAME32.

In any case, this is either a filter thing or you are using an old version of GameEx and a version of MAME newer than 0.131 as it appears they have changed some things (as usual).

Thanks for your speedy reply...I will download a mame version previous to that and let you know how it goes. The problem I had with mame32 was I couldn't find any up-to-date versions of it to download. The one that comes packaged with gameex is severely out of date. With mameui32 it seemed to have more support and official websites. I think it might have been a name change , but that was what I was referring too.

well I tried Installing .131 with no avail, Ill try playing around with it more tomorrow..hopefully I can figure out a soultion. Everything is formed from the listinfo.dat right and verify.dat so is there anyway to input those files manually into a filter. I guess I'm just thinking out loud, the better way is to just fix it hahah

I think you misunderstood BKenobi. Mame32, and Mame32UI are the same thing. They changed the name from Mame32 to Mame32UI awhile back, which is why you can't find a recent version of Mame32. When BK said "Standard Mame" he was refering to the original version of Mame which can be found at: http://mamedev.org/release.html

You will want to download one of the "Official Windows Binary Packages" (They have three versions, optimized for different CPUs)

I don't know if this will solve your problem though.

Edit: Re-reading your posts, I'm not sure which build (Mame32UI.exe, Mame.exe) that you are running...

My main point was that if you are running a newer version of MAME (newer than 0.131), you will want to update GameEx. Tom has fixed the issue AFAIK, so you shouldn't need to worry about MAME versions really.

thanks guys... Yea i was running mameui32 .132.3 so i guess i tried finding .131 but after using that it still didn't work so I tried reinstalling game ex with the current build and that fixed it! Thanks again for all the suggestions I appreciate that you guys take the time to answer noob questions and actually genuinely want to help.
