What OS are you using?

I think the IPACS themselves don't need drivers. I'm pritty sure there PnP. When I plugged in my IPAC4 it picked it up in XP Pro.

I would also Suggest going to the website and downloading WinIpac as well. It can be found here Ultimarc Website

I have contacted andy and he has been very helpfull but we have yet to get to the problem I think it is something to do with vista but it is not responding to anything have also downloaded winipac and that has'nt help either so I'm kinda stumped cause we dont think it has anything to do with the wiring

Ok when you push 2 and 5 do they light up in WinIpac?

I had this problem and come to find out mine was a grounding issue :-\. If one ground in the chain is broken, everything after wont work.

Posted

just the player 2 number 5 button lights up nothing else, but when I do the keyboard test or notepad nothing happens anyway and I started my ground on the player 1 controls and daisy chained 2 player 2's last button which is 6, so that being your theory would'nt all the other buttons but player 2 5 and 6 work. its as if windows is not picking up the minipac, you know when you plug a pnp device in it makes that "da dum" noise, well it does it for the seperate led board but not my mini-pac board.

ok so just an update, I just completely rebooted my computer and installed a new ground daisy chain on my control panel and still the same thing is happened I'm totally confused

I believe you state that you have the LED's wired and they are working. And that you are doing this through a laptop. Try just plugging in the mini-pac without the LED's plugged in. And plug the mini-pac into the usb you plugged the LED's into. Since that usb worked for the leds. I suspect you either have a bad usb port or just have too much plugged into the usbs and it can't power them all. If so, you can get a powered usb hub and that should solve your issues.

Yeah I have tried the mini-pac in both ports without the LED Board plugged in its still the same, I've sorta run out of ideas on what I can do.

Do all your other usb devices work fine?

I mean this may sound foolish, but do you have the most updated chipset drivers?

I had problems with a mini-pac. I tried everything under the sun thinking that I had done something wrong. I finally sent Andy an e-mail, listing all of the steps that I had taken to troubleshoot the problem. He sent me a new mini-pac, and it worked fine. It might be time for that. Just make sure to include all the detail that you can.

If you think it's a Vista issue, do you know somebody that has a different OS that you can try it on?

Posted

Yeah I have just spoke to andy at gremlin solutions and he agrees its time to get a new one, and is sending a replacement today so hopefully that should be it but thanks everyone for all the suggestions if it does'nt work this time I'll be back.

Just an FYI for when you get the new one. I run mine with Vista and don't have any problems so it's definitely compatible.
