    • Can't use the 16:9 resolution on my system; but would like to use one if it were available for 4:3 resolutions.

Okay, the basic part of the TunnelVision theme was posted a few days ago, and although the post had a number of views, I don't know how many downloaded, like, disliked, or didn't care one way or the other about it. It is in a 16:9 format, but if you guys would rather have it in 4:3 let me know. Bottom line is I haven't gotten much feedback one way or the other. So I put up a bit of a youtube video showing it running with various video backgrounds and animated selection window videos. It shows snippets, it would have been too long to show each of the menu selection videos. I actually have about 30 various backgrounds, but used 6 in the theme.

Let me know whether I should upload and post the various files used in the theme for people to download. If no one is really interested in this type of thing, also let it be known and I will just use it on my own systems and let the subject die here on the boards...

Do you mean the avi in the theme as the emu background (the one where I am showing it with the Aquaria video playing)? Well one of the beauties I thought might be appealing with this theme is to have the theme for download with all the avi backgrounds as separate downloads. Then people could use any one (or up to seven if wanted) avi backgrounds of their own choosing.

Ah Headkaze; it was late last night and I think I TOTALLY misread your point. I thought you were referring to the avi view on the emu background shown on the Aquaria game as an example because it looks like you are going through a sublike chamber of tunnels. I see now with fresher eye and mind you are likely referring to running the theme with the sub menu selections as the backgrounds. I am not sure it would look nearly as good on a full screen because those files had to be kept down in size and were not optimized for full screens. The resolution is different also, these actually might be almost a perfect fit though if the theme were used on 4:3 using those files, but I will have to test it to see.

Right now the big thing that does not look good would be the scrolling text when jukebox music is playing (bleeds off center on widescreen view and I can't control that; maybe in a future GameEx release it will be customizable). Also, strange enough, when I click on the change view (tried it last night for the first time, never been a blow up the small image to fill the whole screen on views kind of person because it usually does not look good in my opinion on most themes). For some reason GameEx crashes when I click change view on the menu; all other menu items on the screen seem to work fine except that one. Will have to look into it to see...

I guess if people are interested, then I can put the avi's on the website later today so users can pick and choose... Then I will start work on making a 4:3 conversion in my spare time...

The concept is great. But the theme isn't my cup of tea. It's taylored to a specific taste. Sorta like white walls when you want to sell your house. Vs Red walls when you move in. If this was a generic arcade gaming theme. I would be all over a 4:3 800x600 theme. Otherwise, it's great for what it is.

Agreed. I really like it, but I wouldn't use it on my cab for a couple reasons (not 4:3, too high resolution, more of a multimedia type thing rather than game based). I really like it though. If I were running GameEx on a HDTV for a media center, I think this would be a good choice.

I love the theme. I think Gameex is media center esque. I think it is very fitting. As you can tell there are alot of CAB users here also. They want the complete oppisite. Simple navigation. Low res images on a standard view.

Please do not get discouraged by lack of feedback.
