Tom Speirs Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Thanks Headkaze.FYI folks latest release referred to is 10.09, just upped about 25 minutes ago. Quote
isjarichtig Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I just tested the plugin with the LPT- method. It works perfectly!! I think wolfsoft will check out the other method. The only thing I would change is to rotate the Gameex with gamestart together instead of gameexit. When you select a game the screen starts to rotate but the controler info you are looking at before the game starts is not. But this isn´t a must have. I am very happy with this thing and much happier to use Gameex again. Thanks again to all of you for the help and build of this nice thing! Quote
headkaze Posted May 26, 2009 Author Posted May 26, 2009 Good to hear the LPT method works, as that is the only part of the plugin I couldn't test. The LED method works because I can see the LED light up on my keyboard. Also I changed the plugin to rotate on gamestart instead. Please give it a try.Upped the source code in the first post Tom: I think this plugin should be okay to include in GameEx now? Quote

Tom Speirs Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Hey Ben,Just tried this. Why did you change it to rotate GameEd on game start? It does not always launch the game like that, and it doesnt look smooth. Thats why I added that new setting, as it doesnt work right this way. Im wondering if you did it so GameEx will send the correct command line? A better way if you want to do that would be to use the command event. The earlier version worked perfect for me as I made GameEx in that last release run the app events immediatly after Game Exit. So the rotation was seamless.Cheers.Tom. Quote
headkaze Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 The only thing I would change is to rotate the Gameex with gamestart together instead of gameexit. When you select a game the screen starts to rotate but the controler info you are looking at before the game starts is not.Tom, the reason I changed it is because it was requested as above. I don't do it to look at the command line, but if the rotation is smoother using the command line event then I will change it to use that. The source code is available in the first post if you need to take a look at what is going on. I agree it's not as smooth doing it this way, but it makes sense to be able to view the controller info before the game starts. I have to sleep for a second to make sure GameEx has time to rotate. If there is a better way let me know and I'll change it. Quote
Tom Speirs Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Oh sorry, I should learn to read Let me see what I can do. Quote
Tom Speirs Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Sorted now.It was more of a problem with GameEx than anything. There really was no need for it to do a transition after a rotate. As we are rotating pre launch of game there's no need to set the Autorotate setting now. Would you mind just removing the WriteGameExIni stuff, then we'll be good for the next release? Thanks for your help. Quote
Tom Speirs Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Does it still need the Sleep(1000)?Yes, that works well. Quote
headkaze Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 Okay I've uploaded the plugin again, so it should be ready for release now. Quote
Ede Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Hi,as requested by Ben I'll post the english version of the documentation (hard- and software) for the LPT-Rotate project here.Documentation_RotateScreen.doc Quote
headkaze Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 Thanks Ede, that's awesome. I have attached the document to the first post in pdf format.I've also contact wolfsoft about getting the LED documentation converted to English and he said he would do that also. So that is fantastic we will have two methods of rotating monitors using hardware now Quote
headkaze Posted June 5, 2009 Author Posted June 5, 2009 wolfsoft has kindly translated the documentation on building the LED version of the rotating monitor hardware. I've attached it to the first post, so now there are instructions on building both the LPT or LED model of the rotate hardware. The plugin included in GameEx supports both methods. Quote
wolfsoft Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Here you can see my rotating Cabinet.Until now with MaLa but in the future I will change to GameEX Quote
Tom Speirs Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Thanks a lot guys. Ive added the docs to the main website in the tutorials section so they dont get lost.Cheers.Tom. Quote

Tempest Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I think that looks much better in GameEx, than it did in Mala. Quote
