gamelist update aborts

ive got the last gameex and merged my mame roms to 0.131

when updating the gamelist, gameex aborts the process without any comment.

the gamelist shows now all clones, which i have disabled in the setup, and no icons.

did anyone have an idea what could cause the problem?

Same here dude. Just noticed that when i tried to update my list to.131. It updates the list real fast but then shows all clones (like you I have them set to be hidden). All games are there and playable but when I exit and restart GameEx I'm right back to my old list of roms. I cant figure it out, I tried a few different things but nothing worked.

It didnt work for me the first time with MAME 131 but worked when I tried it again.

Is the problem persistant when you try it again?

I had noticed that too Tom. Didn't think much of it though since after a few times it worked.

Im guessing that MAME now does something special the first time you run a new version.

PS: I forgot how fast the list update is now. Never got much comment on that, but its a huge improvement.

Even more so than before our tests? I didn't bother to time since It was a huge improvement already. As far as the update though I thought it was something to do with the new version of mame as well.

Well, yes i tried the update two or three times and the list reverted back to my old roms list every time after a reboot of GameEx. I'll report back next time I mess around with my arcade cab. Sorry about the infrequent posts I've got several large projects going on around the house.

So, I'm having a somewhat similar problem.

Had to reinstall my mamecab and put GameEx 10.7 on there with MAME 131u2, and everytime i start GameEx I have no roms in my list.

I go to update list, takes not very long, but it is not processing mameinfo.dat, history.dat or catver.ini when i do update list. Also, every time I go back to the list it asks me if I want to update. When I quit GameEx and come back I have no list again.

Also, it is showing me the Mahjong games, which i specifically said not to do.

I have updated the list at least 10 times. Here's my log file showing that it's not processing mameinfo.dat or the others, even though it finds them:
