Hello! Almost got this thing kickin', but hit a big problem

Hardware

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/p...87&cl=US,EN

Software

Vista 32-bit

GameEx 10.05

Issue

I can control GameEx just fine with the left joystick, but I want to use the Directional Pad to navigate the menu's. The controller works fine in my emulators (ZSNES, Fusion, etc), however I can't get the directional pad to register that keys are pressed in the Setup Wizard, it associates "up" on the stick as "up" and nothing if I push Directional Up. Ideally, I'd like to use the left analog stick as a mouse with the directional pad being the menu navigation. Are there any override values I can put in the config files in order to pick up these controller commands?

Tom would have to add support for the "POV" input which is what the directional pad on the Rumblepad. He would then need to associate codes for them so they can be selected as input in the Setup Wizard.

Note to Tom: The POV is digital input so it's easy to implement support for (look at joyState.GetPointOfView())

That's good that you've identified it, but bad outcome... That means there is probably not a controller I can buy that would yield this functionality (at least, one that's this similar in layout).

@gryhnd - What is this AHK you speak of? I'm willing to try.

This is (strangely) very important to me, so I'll try many crazy things.

Auto Hot Key.

I see Tempest recommends Xpadder. I don't use it, so I didn't think of that one. Looks like a better match at first glance.

Xpadder looks good-- just worried about the overhead of another running process, especially when running PS2. Gonna use this as the temp solution.

If anyone has another way to do it, I'm all ears.

Thanks for the help/suggestions.

The Logitech software can allow you to program the D-pad to cause Key-presses to occur when you push

the D-pad. It even let's you set it differently for different executables. It should work fine for GameEx menus.

The only problem I've had with it is if you want the angles (I haven't been able to get it to map 2 keys at a time).

It's been a while since I tried it...

Xpadder or joytokey are really the best. I dont think they will cause anymore overhead than the logitec one. They may be even better.
