Here is the doc

Besides when i play directly from MAME32 I have no problem. The screen issue only appears in GameEx

I can however fix it when i hit TAB during a game. In this menu I can open `video`

In the Video menu I can choose magnify. THis is default on `1` however when i switch to `auto` everything is fine.

Thanks

OK, this is not related to a GameEx update, but MAME.

In your MAME.ini yourll probably find a line that says magnify = 1

MAME.ini should be in your MAME folder.

If not you could also try adding -nomagnify to the MAME cmd line in GameEx advanced configuraiton > advanced mame configuration.

Ok I did a change to the maximize setting and things are looking better now. No more oversized games. However I just changed everything back and it stays ok??? Very strange. So I changed everything back and things still look good.

Now i have an other issue that is: I have deadzones at the bottom, top, left and right of the screen. In advanced settings they are disabled. Putting them on 1 doesn't help either. Also the setting is on "full screen"and not windowed??

Some more info

Next to my normal pc monitor I also have a big plasmatv connected to the MAME pc. On both screens I can see GameEx and the games. On that screen there is no black edge around GAMEEX or the games. This is really full screen.

Ill assume GameEx.

Sounds to me like your using a splitter to output 1 screen to both monitor and tv. Correct? If so thisc certainly sounds easily possible.

If so, sounds like GameEx is running at the right resolution for your TV, but not your monitor. How does the windows desktop run? You could try a different a resolution or tell GameEx not to change resolution.

My monitor runs via VGA the plasma via DVI so one video card runs both screens. So no splitter. Just two cable in one video card.

The problem with the black edges only happens when I start games directly from Gameex. When I start a game from Mame32 I get to see everything in fullscreen. So no black edges.

One thing that is different in Mame32 now is that it also runs if fullscreen. In the past I still had the minimize and close button in the right upper corner but these are also gone now.

OK, well MAME normally runs fine out the box, unless your using some other build than MAMEUI32 or Vanilla MAME, so I would just delete your mame.ini. Also you never did reply about what command line options you have.

I'm using the Mame32 emulator that I downloaded when I installed Gameex. About the command line I'mnot exactly sure what you mean but is it something like below?

-device_video_output fullscreen -quiet -dir_rom "C:\Emulators\Mame32\roms"

Besides my desktop is OK. It complete fills the screen. Also when I see Gameex in a small window it fills out the window completely. However when i switch to full screen I get the black edge.

About deleting the INI file? Will mame still work.

I added a screenshot. On the right and left there are also black edges but these are not on the printscreen strangly? Besides when I start games from Mame32 now the games also have this black edge. Someting isn't right maybe a full reinstallation would do the trick? It used to work fine...

I just had the same problem on my normal PC

I deleted the INI file and the problem was solved.

Just tried the same thing with my MAME pc and it didn't work. I deleted both .ini files and I still have the problem. Tomorrow I will try to rebuild the whole Mame32 folder. There must be something inside that folder that gives problems.

Hold on a second. Are you running MAME or MAME32? They use different ini files historically (I think the most current releases of MAMEUI32 are using the standard mame.ini now). Make sure you are working with the right ini file!

Just removed the whole Mame32 folder from the emulators folder and I installed MameFx32. Problem still exists.. I think rebuilding the whole computer is best. There is still some old stuff installed and maybe a clean new pc with freshly installed windows XP is best.
