What exactly do you need it to do to run?

maybe the best way would be to use a wrapper to click on the social club login in order to start the game through gameex.

the launcher has the securom protection so it has to be started. not that i would use cracks, this is a clean forum here so no crack discussions ;)

just this short hint assuming you have the original dvds of course: the razor1911 patch for 1.0.2 only replaces the launcher exe but leaves the original exe as it is. apperently thats all it needs to run the game without cd (+ the dll file of razor)

Funny, I just wrote about GTA4 in feature requests.

I have it running through gameex. But I also have the digital download version, so I don't need a CD/DVD in the drive. The problem with gameex is that it returns to gameex before GTA4 even launches, then GTA4 takes over. After GTA4 closes, Gameex is stuck in the taskbar and even if you try to reopen it, you get a blank screen. I think it would be nice to have an option for "Close Gameex after emulator launches".

I just posted the fix for your problem in the features request thread. But, basically you just need to use an advanced config to tell GameEx what process you want it to wait for prior to taking over again. By default, when the process GameEx launches disappears, GameEx will take over. This is correct 99% of the time...until you have a game with a wrapper.

You can download games from places like http://store.steampowered.com/ instead of driving to the store and buying physical media. I personally would prefer the physical copy, but I can see an advantage if this means you don't have to put the media in every time...

oh right,,

sounds good but what if u accidently delete it can u redownload it,,,

and i actually bought my game but can i download as well

Someone else should answer as I'm just guessing, but I would assume Yes (within reason and after talking to a CSR) and No (since downloading is through a different channel than the physical copy) unless they have a download code inside the box.

Sorry to bump a old thread but im looking for something to launch this in game ex... Problem is it has this Rockstar Social club thing thats kinda like steam... You need to click on the menu with a mouse to select "start in offline mode" then you can hit enter to play the game... Any launcher out there for this or a wrapper or anything??? Maybe someone can whip one up on here?

Thanks

You can make your own wrapper to do this with AHK. The easiest way is to just record a macro of you clicking the button you want. You will also need to make sure you use an advanced config so GameEx watches the correct process rather than quitting when the loader menu is exited (via the AHK macro above).
