About 30% of my games for nintendo, super nintendo and genesis come up blank.. Even super mario brothers 1, 2 & 3 all come up blank even though there are screen snaps in the folder for those games. I don't know how it associates the game to the snap but can i make it more accurate?

Snap must match rom name.

Like lingpanda said, you need to rename your snaps to match the rom name. There are several tools that can help do this in a more automated fasion. The best thing would be if the snaps came with a dat file that you could run through CMP or RomCenter. Since that's probably not going to be available, read this thread:

http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...=artwork+rename

I would try the link HK provided first. If that doesn't fix everything, you can try my method.

when i try to run the artwork rename i get an error: Component MSCOMCTL.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

A little birdy told me there might be a feature in GameEx soon that will do this automatically ;)

But for now you will need to install the VB6 runtimes to use Howard's Generic Artwork Renamer.

Oh! I had started working on a wee tool to try and do something like this the other day, think I'll put it on hold till I see what surfaces.

All I've done so far is got it loading the GameEx config and displaying what snaps I'm missing, was gonna combine it with my fuzzy tool to match up screenshots in a more user friendly way
