I ran through the installation and the verifier and the only thing that came back red was for things I did not enable.

Every time I try to launch gamex I get an invalid rom path error.

My rom path is set to a network drive but gamex doesn't seem to be able to play it, I verified this by placing a few roms in a local path and gamex was able to find them.

Any suggestions?

Storing the roms locally is not an option at this point.

Both should be supported. If your network is slow or has a lot of latency, it's possible that GameEx (or more likely Windows) is timing out the drive. I know some people have been using servers to store their stuff on and pointing GameEx to that machine, so it should work.

I've tried mapping the drive as well as using the network path:

ie z:\roms

and

\\server\share\roms

Latency shouldn't be a problem as I am able to plays the roms through mame in other FE's just fine (including video snaps).
