Bug Reports thread

Hi there,

Welcome to our bug-report Thread . If You find any bugs in the software, please post it here so we have ONE thread which is much more easier to work with than having multiple threads. Please be sure that it is REALY a bug which can always be reproduced and be sure to always use the actual version, which can be downloaded here : http://www.gameex.net/Download/tabid/67/Default.aspx. Post the bug in the following way :

1. Write down the corresponding section where the bug is

2. Give a short description

3. Write down the GameEx version

4. Status of the bug (reported / walkaround / solved)

5. Write exactly the steps You did and the corresponding result

Number 4 is at the beginning always "reported" and only the mods should change the status of a bug to "walkaround" or "solved" so You can always see the status of a bug and get a walkaround or it will be solved.

Here is an example :

2. Description : News is not available, even when he has an internet connection

3. GameEx Version : 9.79

4. Status : Reported (Status changed to "solved" in version 9.80)

5. Steps :

I am using a WLAN USB Stick and here is the bug :

1. Start PC

2. USB WLAN Stick is NOT activated (=> so no internet connectivity)

3. Start Gameex

4. go to news -> says "No news found" -> thats pretty ok

5. I go to "Other programs"

6. I start from here my USB stick (made it as an external application)

7. USB WLAN stick is started, activated and internet connectivity is there

8. I go to weather channel -> shows me weather, thats ok

9. I go to Internet Radio and select a channel -> plays it, thats ok

10. I go to news -> Again "No news available"

So the bug is that he will not check again if there is an internet connectivity or not. When he tries one time to connect and he could not, he will never check again for connectivity. Is this a known bug ?

1. Section : Music Cover

2. Description : There is only one cd cover for all my music

3. GameEx Version : 9.80

4. Status : ¿Reported?

5. Steps :

1. Start PC

2. Start Gameex

3. Go to Gameex start menu

4. I can see a cd cover in the left down corner (this cover is not in the media folder)

5. The cover is not the correct for the song i'm listening

6. Press the button to change to next song in jukebox

7. The song changes but the cover still the same.

8. If i go to media folder i can see all the covers of all my music in jukebox (downloaded by Gameex automatically) except the cover you can see in main page

So the bug is that the cd covers not change when you change the song, and the cover you see all time is not in the media folder. I'ts a rare bug.

IMO, putting bugs and updating their status in a forum thread will quickly become unmaintanable if a lot of people actually submit them.

You should use a real (free) bug tracking software like bugzilla.

2. Description : The folders don't display in the dvd's section if at least one folder has spaces at the end of its name.

1. start gameex

2. go to multimedia

3. go to dvd's

There seems to be a bug when using a shared location that contains spaces at the end of the folder name when trying to use the dvd's on the hard drive. The whole shared location won't display any folders if at least one of the folder names has spaces at the end of its name. I have the share going to a mac which allows the folder name to have spaces at the end of it. The work around is to remove the spaces at the end of the file name.

i got 1

in the advance config i ue to control my pc games controls,

i use project 64 v2 wich the exit via escape button is false

and in a couple of emulator i ue advanced config project64 v4

wich is set to exit when escape is pressed,,

no the bug is

if i let the screen saver cut in before i play the pc games,

when i press escape it will close when it shouldnt

or if i play a emulator and then go to pc games it will still close when escape is pressed,

the only workaround i got

is to go strait into pc games before screensaver cuts in and then it will be fine

and map files is turned off in my pc games,

this bug has been with me for about half a year now

i have mentioned it before but now i have more detailed information and a workaround,,

it seems to me that when an emulator with advanced config is loaded or screensaver,

it must put the config into memory or something and use that on my pc games,

another bit of information is that another pc games 2 section i have wich doesnt use advanced config

is fine and unofected by all this,

this really needs to be looked at as when im playing online games i tend to go nuts when it exits and all i wanted to do was change weopen
