I posted this in the wrong place so here I go again. (I'll get this yet. :) )

This is a machine that I have GameEx shelled on and this error only happens at start up.

If I enter in the explorer and manually start it, it works fine.

Okay I have the PC set with 2 login users and 1 is set up with this as the shell.

I do this so when the kids come over and want to play games they can only log on as the Arcade and can't mess nothing up on the PC.

I am sure some one was down that road before.

I did have this working last year but had to rebuild and now getting towards the holidays, we are going to have a house full once again.

If you know what I mean. But I can not figure out why this time is different.

Please help.

Thanks

Is your other user not an administrator? I spent a lot of time making GameEx and all my emus run as non admin. I dont recommend it for those who dont do it professionally.

That made no difference changing either one from admin to the other. As a matter of fact, It would not even start unless it had Admin privileges.

But when I took out the intro vid it works.

?

Is there something wrong with the vid?

Only ask because eventually I will building a PC to run just the games and would like to have this working on it.

I have been playing with this and now found that if I don't use the welcome screen the front end loads.

The thing that sucks, It is so much easier for the kids to just go turn on the PC, click on the arcade icon and play from the welcome screen.

I still don't see why this is not working like I had it.

Any help to get this to start from the welcome screen will be greatly appreciated.

This is killing me because I can't even run it anymore. It started on the last version and I can't even double-click on the exe from the directory to get it to work. I get the Please Wait loading screen and then it dumps. My log file is attached but I even started the machine over loading Vista today and the same damn error.

C'mon and help us paying customers out here.

I was able to have someone give me an older version of GameX .42 and guess what, it is working for me again so obviously something has changed in the last two to 3 versions that are causing this DirectX and Invalid Font issue.

I can't believe how much time I wasted loading and reloading the PC only to find it really is the GameX software.....

Tom,

I too have issues when shelling. I had everything setup, and working fine. I already had changed the OS (XP) to hide the login prompt myself. And I am running this on my driving cab that has a switch at the top, and bottom of the accelerator. So when the accelerator is untouched, the top switch is closed. XP didn't like this, so I told it to ignore keyboard errors. Since I shelled, it shows the login window again (even thought I checked to hide it) and for some reason the keyboard errors show up again. If I unshell, it works properly. I'm not sure what version I'm running, but I will be happy to provide whatever information you need.

Thanks!

Someone posted in another thread, that if you shell "For this user only" that it fixes problems. They also mentioned having to not hide the mouse pointer, but I'd try the first option, then both if you have to. Please let us know if that helps!

Sorry to say but this did not help my situation.

I was not using the instant shell program, I shelled this manually before.

Then I tried this program, It will work as long as I have checked the;

"Hide Startup,Login,Stutdown Screens and Set Auto Login"

This would be fine if I was using this as the arcade machine only.

I need the login screen for a normal windows entry and a shelled arcade entry.

See I have kids that come over that like to play games and I do not them having access to windows. They messed up shit last time.

So I have the windows login to need a password and the arcade does not.

If I had the space I would just build another machine but I do not.

I am in a small condo and would love to have another machine, but the wife won't have it.

I am taking to much space now in her minds eye. Damn, why did I get married? Rotten cheep Tequila.
