Tom,

Right now I think you use the -nosound switch for mame in the screensaver mode if the user selects no sound in the options. The problem here is that if you use the "put a coin" option in to break out of the screensaver, that game will have no sound.

Is is possible to just mute all sound from windows, then unmute windows if the coin is pressed? This way, a cabinet can have no sound from the screensaver, but still have the sweet break out of screensaver option. This could work for the other emulators too (not sure how/if you mute those since I don't have other emulators setup for the screensaver).

Ah, true... didn't think about that. Maybe in the future, when Vista and maybe windows 7 become more used, we could use the advanced audio controls of windows (allowing you to mute and change the volume of any program individually).

A Cheap, and well...most likely not a very good solution would be.

Merge both audio feeds down to mono (MAME and JukeBox). Pipe MAME thru the right channel, and pipe the Jukebox thru the left.

This way you can mute one channel or the other, this have jukebox playing, then MAME audio can take over upon game play.

It's sloppy and may not even be possible (or easy). If done ONLY when in Attract Mode, it might be a way to do what you are requesting.
