This is kinda funny... I was reading at KLOV, while waiting for this to page to load, (slow connection) and the first post I read over there is you. Did you get that Tapper cab yet? :P

Man you have a nice collection of hardware going there. I watch craigslist in my area, if you want me to keep an eye out for something for you, I will...

Also, I believe that is the first time that you mentioned havind a son. I assume from your comment, that he plays the games with you. I always think it's pretty cool when this hobby spans into the next generation.

I would be all over that cab if I had the room. But as it stands I don't have the room for it. Plus I would have to put a monitor in it. Right now I don't have the fundage for it. I need to replace the monitor in my Blitz machine. Yeah Dylan wasn't there when you came that day. He likes SoulCalibur I & II Tekken Tag & Zombie Revenge (The lil booger can play that better than I can) Now that I have Toy Fighter he likes that too :)

I mean if we are talking NullDC here for Dreamcast as far as I can see you would need a script that launched the program in a window and then took it to full screen, then on game exit you would need it to go from full screen back to a window and exit.

That's possible but then would have to set a global key to escape the emulator like {ESC} and make sure GameEx sends {ESC} to exit the emulator. But in doing this it doesn't really make it cab-friendly. Would still see the windows for a brief second even if their hidden. But would make it work and we already have some emulators that do do that already (show that you're running in a windows environment), so wouldn't really matter.

So are we going to move forward with any of this or just wait for a newer version of Null?

I mean there are two basic problems here, one with Null closing at full screen and one with Null loading Naomi games in Game Ex.

I may have some time to look into this weekend.

Yeah I've tested that also. It seems to stay fullscreen on every load. I tested many many times just to verify so I knew what I needed to script for the wrapper. I'll release soon. Just working on some other stuff. It's pretty much done and working well.

Hmmm...

So you guys are saying that when you exit at full screen, no crashes and you did not make any changes?

That's correct. I get no crashes whatsoever. I am running XP however and I believe you're running Vista? Are you receiving crashes with the Naomi build? If so have you updated the input plugin that was suppose to fix some Vista problems?

I spoke to the programmer again last night with my requests, I guess will see what happens in the next version update... Whenever that will be. :P

Sweet! Did you create a wrapper for it?

Here ya go Brian & Visitor Q! It's in an installer and includes the wrapper and file to make sure to kill the process cleanly (based off Nologics kill_child). I might do another release at a later time cuz I don't like the way this emulator shows the window when switching to fullscreen. However we'll see how fast the author updates this emulator and this wrapper will no longer be needed. Installer defaults to install into the GameEx\LOADERS directory or you can install into the emulator directory.

Command-line if wrapper is in LOADERS directory:

"[APP]\LOADERS\nullDC-Naomi_Wrapper.exe" "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"

Command-line if wrapper is in emulator directory:

nullDC-Naomi_Wrapper.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"

Works fine on my system but let me know if you experience any bugs. Just a simple script to make this emulator work. Sorry for the delay but been busy with my other projects and just got time to send.

It does not work for me...

C:

CD "C:\Emulation\Emulators\nullDC (Naomi)"

"C:\Emulation\Front Ends\GameEx\loaders\nulldc-naomi_wrapper.exe" "D:\Emulation\Roms\Sega Naomi\nullDC\Guilty Gear XX\Guilty Gear XX.lst"

When I run this command in DOS, null crashes.

Ain't Nothin' Like The Real Thing Baby.

I hear ya there. Keep running into things I don't like. So makes this script ugly. LOL. Better to just wait for a new release of the emulator or play "The Real Thing!" ;)

I'd own/play the real thing if I could afford it that's why I turn to emulators! ;) Naomi boards/roms/GD-roms are expensive especially the main board not to mention neededing a cabinet/monitor/cp etc.. to actually play the thing that's another expense :D
