Here is the Controlinator Plug-in I created to allow easy switching of your default MAME controls based on the players as defined in nplayer.ini.

To install this follow the instructions in the enclosed README.TXT

NOTE: any controls you have already defined per game will override controls set in the controlinator configuration.

If you have any issues feel free to PM me here.

I have included the sources as well. Be nice. It was my first csharp program.

I tried this today, it crashes the plugin manager, I'm using XP64... Anybody else having problems?

To be honest, I didn't want to trash the stickied plugin thread with the kind of garbage that this thread has in it so far... ;)

Also, I assumed that if I got my "New Thread" count up, that I too could be a "Super Member", or whatever the heck it is that Flash is... :D

This is so far off topic now that there will never be an answer to the original plugin problem...

I would pop round for a beer but i is a bit of a walk from mine and the weather man mentions the slight chance of rain and a westerly wind. :)

Well, you are all a bunch of tools. :lol:

But now back on topic.

I found an exception that I am not sure why it was causing an issue, but I think I have fixed it.

Here is a new dll. If it fixes the issue I will re-issue a new zip once I have added a few new items that I am thinking of.

To install just extract the dll and copy it into your gamex/plugins folder.

Just so you know, I downloaded the .dll, and the plugin manager did not crash... I don't know if you've been following it or not but I'm having problems with the LCD/LED Plugin... I just want to get that straightened out before I start a whole new set of issues... Your gonna be sorry when I try your plugin... :P

BTW: If you guys have a pool going on the LCD/LED thread, I'll put $10 (US) on: Tempest's Wrong, All The Time, Whenever He Posts!

I just noticed that you quoted me after Adultery changed my post.... I originally had a date and time in there.

I guess It doesn't matter, because I would have lost the pool anyways, because THERE WAS A BUG IN THE LCD PLUGIN! :o

So who won the pool?

I'm still not using your plugin, because I'm still having problems with the Plugin LCD, and I don't want to add another suspect to my line-up. I will try it when everything is sorted out, but in the meantime, how hard would it be to add support based on the number of buttons from Mame's listxml.xml? I personally would only need to remap the 4 button games, but I know others who would like to re-map 5 and 6 button games as well.

Don't feel obligated, I'm just asking...

I guess I should warn you, when you remap a specific game using "tab" in mame, it adds a "mask" to the .cfg file. I don't know what the mask does, or how they come up with it, but it does affect whether or not the Gamename.cfg works or not. I also tried running a game without making any changes to the default.cfg, but the Gamename.cfg does not have the "mask" info in it unless a key is changed. I could probably write a script to start mame, bring up the menu, and change the keys in the games automatically to remap the keys, but I wanted your input first.
