I was going to suggest that you use a program like Beyond Compare to compare your ini to mine, but I don't see how it could help. My ini works on my machine, and your ini works on my machine, so what could it be? Not that I'll be able to help you beyond this point, (Lack of Skills), but what OS are you using? I'm running XP64.

I installed GameEx on a spare system. The create snaps worked there. Using the program WinMerge, I compared the GameEx .ini file of the one missing snaps with the clean install and found nothing that indicated the problem.

A reinstall might get around the issue, but it would probably be beneficial to get to the bottom of this. Someone else sent me a message that they were having this problem so that is three cases that we know of.

It is starting to seem like it might be cached or set somewhere else as JellyBelly suggested in an earlier post. Any ideas where else it might be set?

Four cases, if you also count the old machine of mine which did the same thing.

Tempest -- I'm running Vista 64-bit on my cabinet. My old machine was Vista 32-bit.

Maybe this will help lead someone in the right direction. Consider the following:

I have two systems:

System A: Older install of GameEx where the Create Snaps option NOT visible

System B: has a fresh(er) install of GameEx where Create Snaps is visible

On System B, after the create snaps is done, or if I hold down escape to cancel the create snaps routine, GameEx returns to the game list and the Create Snaps is gone and the options look the same as system B. Specifically this is what happens:

[Create snaps finishes or exits then displays:]

Screen 1:

<Change View> <Back> <Home> <Exit>

Games listed here

[Press Back]

Screen 2:

<Change View> <Back> <Home> <Exit>

Create Snaps:

You are about to create snapshots â?¦

[Press Back]

Screen 3:

<Create Snaps><Change View> <Back> <Home> <Exit>

Games listed here

Could System A somehow be stuck at Screen 1 mentioned above which does not have the Create snaps option?

I don't know, but sometimes things can be fixed by deleting the cache files in the C:\Program Files\GameEx\DATA directory. I don't remember which ones they are, but there are 3 that have been mentioned in the past. Now, I don't think this will help in this case since I think that's mostly rom related data and not likely related to creating snaps. Tom might have to answer this one.

Has anybody figured this out? I'm having the same problem on a fresh install.

Hide create snaps is set to no

Are you running 9.81?

The issue is caused when emulator groups are enabled.

Updated to 9.81. Unfortunately the create snaps is still missing. I do have emulator groups enabled. So I tried disabling the groups hoping that would bring the option back :) but it did not.

This should be fixed in 10.07

Then I restarted the system, dowloaded 10.07. , installed it and still no "create snaps"
