Hi,

First I'd like to say that Gameex is THE complete solution for emulation and perfect for that use.

But, I would also like to ass a feature, and don't really know how or what is the better solution. The idea is to have a DVD Gallery (or like cover flow from the ipods) with all the covers then when one is choosed, it could display information (taken from DVD Profiler or any other database). Now, the tricky question is if I make iso, or just rip the DVDs I OWN, is there a way to launch it from there? I know Media Center has a solution like that where each folder is treated like an iso, and Media Portal too has a nice feature for that. I was wondering if Gameex alone could do it, or if I'd be better by putting an external program in Gameex to launch another HTPC software...??

Also, while you are reading me, if it cannot be done in Gameex, which would be better, Media Portal (open source) or Media Center?

Thanks (also about the part to rips, copy, make an iso of the dvds I OWN, I know it could be considered semi-legal, so sorry if I can't talk about that here)

The registered version of GameEx does have a DVDs on disk feature which will play dvd's in folder structure (not ISO), and display cover art. If your looking for something better than Media Center Vista is really the best HTPC software out there at the moment by far. Although I had problems myself getting it to display the DVD info for ripped dvds (I own the DVDs) using the DVD Library. Again it does not support ISO's, and since it does not show the info either you might be better off with just GameEx or Media Portal.

Ok so it supports TS_VIDEO folders, but how can I import the info and cover?

Then I guess Gameex is really a complete piece of software :-)

Yeah, its fairly complete, but not perfect. It does not support info, but the box cover arts go into the Media/Dvd folder.

The art needs to be jpg and need to be prefixed with BOXART_. e.g "BOXART_Batman.jpg".

GameEx will also attempt to automatically download boxart, but it does not alwayts get it right.

Is there a workaround, like a plug-in or just a way of importing my own database? Or usieng the settings of the emulators section?? I could try something when I get home... Sorry to bother about that I just think it would be great, and if not possible I'll put it in the request section :-D

Edit : Just found that topic : maybe we could try something out with this... http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...&hl=jukebox or just set up an external player within the emulation section
