Cant launch Mame games in gameEx

Hi Guys.

I'm a newbie at this and hope you can help me.

I have installed GameEx and want to run mame games. GameEx has no problems finding the games but when I try to play a game I just get a black screen and the computer returns to GameEx. The games work fine if I run them directly in mame. I have tried several versions of mame ( ranging from .098 to .125). I guess it's just a matter of setting GameEx correct but I'm rather lost.

Also in the gameex programs group (Start menu) find the run last game.bat and right click it and choose edit and post the command.

Your probably missing roms.

Yeah, like Brian said, you are probably listing games you don't have roms for.

and setup your configuration as shown in the two photos. Make sure and set "only existing roms" to yes, and update the list when done.

same problem for me, i have all the games, i also just posted elsewhere, piggy backing this thread wasnt going anywhere.

My log looks like this:

and I have the roms - they work fine if I run them in Mame.

Are you using Advance Mame? Not trying to treat you like an idiot, but AdvanceMame is a special version of mame that most people do not use. I don't use it myself, so I don't know what the file structure would look like, but since your rom path is Mame32\roms, I assume you are using Mame32. If that's the case, then in the configuration program, set "use Advancemame" to NO, Or False.

I used to use advanceMAME, but don't any more. There are a lot of advanced setup steps for getting it working correctly, so you will need to make sure you have it right outside of GameEx first. My guess is actually an improperly setup video setting of some kind. I could be wrong though...
