  1. okay, now that i got everything working perfectly fine.....something else of course had to come up. this isnt really gameex related im guessing(obvious) so when i turn my cpu on and load everything up, 2-3 times the cpu freezes and shuts off right away. the other 1-3 it lets me load up whatever i want to do, and then it freezes mid game..... why is it doing this? bad hard drive? overheating is not an option, i have about 4 coolers in it. only thing i can think of is hard drive, but i dont want to buy another one if its not needed. let me know your thoughts fellas, this is always a place where i get fast answers.
  2. idk what else we can do!! hahaha
  3. now its opening up the emulator, but not the game....im going to just do this one the old fashioned way and just load it manually! its all good. thanks for all of your help on this issue, you dudes have done nothing but be helpful. ill let you guys know if i run into any other stupid problems. thanks again
  4. tried it, still no dice......gotta be my pathing to the actual emulator...
  5. gah, idk, i did use the emu to run roms outside of gameex....ive gotta be missing some path.
  6. ill try that real quick. i will pretty much be on here all day/ until this is taken care of. thanks alot for all of your help
  7. dont worry, i always feel like im rude as hell...im just a genuinely grumpy dude..haha heres the log. 8. okay, well i did mis-speak....i can honestly admit im horrible with speaking on forums. what i meant, was that i cannot get GAME EX to run my gens+ (sega genesis) emulator properly. i want game ex to run that so that i can play certain games.
  9. cd "c:\document and settings\dustin\desktop\genesis emu" gens+.exe "c:\documents and settings\dustin\desktop\genesis roms\boogerman (u) [!].bin" i literally had to type it, the cpu im using for mame has no net.
  10. it has two lines...it tells about the game and the emulator without any errors..
  11. i got everything to work as far as it showing the emulator and roms....but when i click on them to play, it goes to a black screen, then back to the game ex screen. any thoughts? everything, as far as i can see, is linked to the correct spot....the roms work perfectly in the emulator itself, but id prefer to run it through mame
  12. well, i guess i should have been more specific....sorry. but what i need to know is how to get the roms to be playable and detected by gameex. i know about the update list, i just have a ton of roms for nes that i want to play, just idk if they need to be configured? or just put in a folder, and pathed to gameex and then im good to go. ???
  13. okay then. i appreciate that much. so how do i add roms to the library?
  14. I was obviously unaware, or obviously i wouldn't have done that. Does that mean nobody will help me?
  15. i have a ton already added that a friend did for me.
  16. i got it working, it was the video card. installed a new one and no problems. thanks for all your help
  17. when i get home ill post my logs...but i did exactly what i did on that computer on my laptop, and everything runs smoothly on my laptop.....so its gotta be video. thanks brian
  18. okay, so i installed it on my laptop, works flawlessly........so what the -Cream filled twinkie-. im guessing it DOES have to do with my pcs video card or something....i got a real shitty get my by to put in it, and now im going to install my good ati raedon x700 deluxe and let you dudes know what the deal is. i appreciate all of your help so far with my situation. any other thoughts other than video card that could be the issue? its for sure has to deal with video though...no doubt in my mind.
  19. alright, ill have to post it a bit later.....im at work. but what im going to do it try and load the files onto my laptop and see if the roms run. ill let you guys know. if they do, then we know its something involving the video on the actual pc i got for MAME. thanks again
  20. no idea what you mean by post your log... and also, i think it may have something to do with the video as you said.....everything worked before and the roms are FOR SURE there.
  21. same problem for me, i have all the games, i also just posted elsewhere, piggy backing this thread wasnt going anywhere.
  22. well, i saw a post for a similar problem, i read it, and there was nothing that helped me. what im experiencing is when i choose a game to play (no matter the games, and YES the roms ARE there!) it goes to a black screen, then back to gameex screen, the one that says "play game" etc. now, i had it working, before i had to reformat, with the same files that i backed up. i actually got the files from a buddy who made a cabinet for another one of our friends, so i know they are reliable, as his works fine. im just wondering if theres anything else that i can try to troubleshoot this.....everything is in place, as it was when i had it working before. thanks for all of your help ahead of time... anything?
