i've just performed a new installation of Windows and have reinstalled GameEx, and was wondering what the most recent and/or updated game databases are; the ones included with gameex, or are there better ones on the forums? i've got some saved to my downloads folder but they were from september of last year. for instance, the ones i downloaded included a "Microsoft Windows/PC Games" database but none is included with gameex.

I assume that the ones included in Gameex are the most current (public) DB's. Headkaze is working on new ones, discussed in this thread:

So if you were thinking of making alot of changes to the existing ones, I'd wait.

so if i were wanting to update the database that comes with gameex for the turbografx-16 games, for example, would i be better off waiting, or just altering/adding the new entries now? i really, really enjoy the sort by genre/manufacturer fields in gameex :D it makes it more like exploring a library. also, is there any news if gameex is going to be supporting new fields in the future to sort by? it'd be real crazy if it had an "also available for xxx systems", and you could select said system and gameex would jump to that ROM... for example, if you had Snatcher for the Sega-CD, Saturn and PS1, you could jump between all three by viewing the profile.

oh the possibilities

I believe that you would be better off waiting. Though, if you want to add the games to your own db, it is not hard to do. Do remember to rename your db file to something else as GameEx will overwrite it when installing an update.

The new db's are coming, but they will take a long time. There are 10's of thousands of games to input across the databases. To give you an idea, I have just finished at sega saturn one containing only 477 games that took over 20hours spit over 3 days.
