Hi all,

I want to adjust the sound volume whilst a MAME game is running.

Does the GameEx volume control get disabled while MAME has launched a game?

I am sure I was able to do this before somehow but its a while since I ran my arcade machine.

Thanks

I haven't verified this, but I would not expect the volume control in Gameex to control the volume in mame. From what I understand, after Gameex launches an application (Mame) it pretty much doesn't do anything, except wait for the application to close. Does Mame have a volume control? Maybe that's what you were doing before?

Yes, MAME can adjust the volume and store the setting in the ini file for each game. The default keys to adjust the volume in MAME are - and = (the plus and minus keys by backspace). You can change these if necessary in the user interface section of MAME (just hit tab when playing).

Thanks guys.

I am using a program VolumeTray which can adjust the master volume using the same key combination as GameEx so all is good now.

For some reason the MAME built in volume buttons are not working for me and I could not find in the source code how they should work but VolumeTray is a better solution.

Thanks again!
