General question about gameex and instant sheller

Hello everyone,

First time poster here so I do appologize in advance if these answers have been asked before.

Well, let me back up. I just registered my gameex a day ago and all I have to say is WOW! I am in the process of building a Mame machine and have gone thru at least a dozen front end loaders and by far Gameex is the most superior out there. Not only that but the sheer amount of options and re-skinning abilites I feel like Im using a a product make by the likes of Bill Gates himself. Thank you to all that have built, and are making better a Gameex every day.

Another thank you to the "theme" creators. Ive downloaded a bunch of them. Currently Im using "Women we love to play" by Mofo Mcmiah and I love it.

Now to my questions: With "Women we love to play" It has a 8 second opening sound of the windows theme that remixed? to the theme I do believe is Fight Club. Its great. First time I heard it I couldent help but smile it took me totally by surprise. The only problem is I have the jukebox set to play upon opening so the two compete with each other. Is there a way to make the jukebox delayed by 10 seconds or so?

My second question is about the instant sheller. I have windows setup to not need a password, but just a straight login into windows. When I use the instant sheller, it goes to a log in screen, and I have to press enter every time to continue into gameex. Is there a way around this?

Again a big thank you to everyone that had something to do with this project it truely is a amazing piece of software, and I am sorry if these answers were asked earlier. I spent a good 2 hours or so trying to find them. Hope to hear from people soon, and once my machine is done, I will definitly have to post pics! (Should be done by this weekend).

AFAIK you cant delay the jukebox.. You can change the setting tho...

As far as the log in is concerned. Read the FAQ sticky.. I posted a extensive shelling info.. Grabbed from Byoc I think. I believe it has something to do with controluserpasswords2 command

Note: To do this automagically during startup in XP your computer may be a part of a workgroup, but it CAN'T be part of a domain.

Here is the process to follow in order to set up your front end as a shell:

You must have at least 2 users with admin privileges

Open the user that will be auto logged in to the account that will be running your front end as a shell. This user should have admin rights.

Set XP to automate the login process.

Click start >run >type

control userpasswords2 Deselect the Users must enter a username and password... checkbox.

Click Apply

Enter the user & pass you want to login with & click OK

Click OK again

Configure your front end...

Thanks for the compliments Dupre, and welcome.

You can stop the into sound from playing. The option is under Enable/Disable features. Sorry but there is no way to delay the jukebox startup.

Go into Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Managment > Local Users and Groups > Users > and disable all users except the one you log in with.

Wow thanks for the really fast posts. I was able to follow your instructions TSpeirs and it works great now. As for the song playing as soon as it loads, I guess maybe in the future this can be fixed, or I can just add 8 seconds of silence to the song and it should work out fine. Again thanks.
