Hi, just about every single mame game runs just fine with Gameex except for any version or Arkanoid and a few other Taito Romstar games. Is there any reason this would be happening? I have tried running arkanoid on both mamewah and mame and it runs fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

What do mean they don't run?

They don't show up on the list?

They start, but then goes back to Gameex?

It might be best to post your Gameex.ini.

just open it with a text editor, and copy and paste the contents in your next post.

Edit: I see you Brian...

Do you mean the log file or the ini the ini is extremely long. When I say don't run I mean won't start but they do show up on the list.

Thanks for the quick reply

The roms do run just fine with Mamewah and regular Mame

The reason we scratch our heads is because if they run in Mame, they should run in Gameex. All Gamex does is send the commandline to Mame, and the commandline contains the romname. So if a game doesn't run, it not because of Gameex, but the way Mame is set up in Gameex. The only thing that I can think of is that the taito games require a bios. You must have the bios, because I would assume that they won't run in mame with out it. So the question is, Do you keep your Bios roms in a separate folder from your gameroms? If you do, then in "Basic Mame Setup" in the configuration app you need to include the path in "Rom Path/s" IE: rompath1;rompath2.

If that doesn't help, then yeah, post your log.

Hi, roms and bios are all in the same folder and the log looks like everything is fine. So I found another rom that doesn't load and I noticed a difference in the log between the ones that do run and the ones that don't. The two roms that don't run have "-artwork -artwork_directory artworkgameex" where the roms that do load leave that part off. I'm not sure why it is doing this but I feel like this probably has something to do with the problem.

Thanks so much.

Try running the "Runlastgame.bat" file in the GameEx start menu. It may be helpful to put 'PAUSE' at the end of that file so the error remains after MAME quits. That file contains the actual command that GameEx is running. If you can figure out what's going wrong there, then we can help get it going in GameEx.

In advanced mame settings, try setting "use bezel", to don't use bezels.

If this works, I want a really big show of appreciation - It's not for my ego, as much as for the other guys.... ;)
