Good idea. Ill try to add the standard GameEx please wait animation for unzipping in the next release.

Unfortunatly, Vista may still think Gameex has stopped responding even with this. It normally open happens though with playing in windowed mode and moving things around. Blame MS for that not me ;)

I blame MS totally - don't you worry.

I even rang Bill Gates up, and he said that it was all his fault and that he was really sorry. I felt insulted when he tried to offer me money as a recompense for my troubles and had to turn him down. Then I went on the Microsoft website to add a written complaint for others and spotted a Paypal donate button, and the rest is history :(

The sod has a personal wealh of 25 Billion AND 25 dollars now :(

Hello Tom and ppls,

I love GameEX and the jukebox is great, but.......

It would be great to beable to set the jukebox in to an album mode, where it displays maybe just 2 - 4 albums with album art on the screen at time. Using left and right to flick through albums and up and down to select tracks.

Much like your classic jukebox.

Also the ability to assign art work to playlists so you can create fake albums etc..

(If this is current available then please shoot me :D)

I googled it...

More British Humour!

My bad, I thought he mistakenly said Jim instead of Tom... I wish you guys would run some sort of a disclaimer when you do this sort of thing.

I cant duplicate this, it works fine for me both using wmp and file tag mode and different playlists in WMP Mode. Can you post your log and gameex.ini and ill take a look. I think there was a problem in an earlier version of GameEx like this, but in my tests its working fine for me.

You are right, something was wrong with my gameex.ini. Maybe from an earlier version. I've made a new configuration file from scratch based on the default gameex.ini and now the playlist gets randomized every time.

I know this is probably a "niche" request but I was wondering if there could be a way to make button selections optional for double-clicking. The reason this would be helpful for me is for my Touchscreen system. When you touch a button, it clicks it which makes it impossible to scroll through the options... Also, there is the occassional "miss-click" where I fat-finger the wrong item. So basically just something where menu selection items could be either single or double click as an option on the config menu... that's my request.

That sounds like something that might be adjustable in the touchscreen software. I could see that as being a common problem that really should be addressed in general, not just for GameEx. But, if it's not possible to fix in drivers, then an option in GameEx could be helpful.

Same with my touchscreen, but If I config it to do a doubleclick on a touch then it will doubleclick when I touch a scroll down, moving 2 pages. Ergo I cant be fixed completely with the driver

Im quite keen to perfect it with touch screens, so hopefully I can do something soon.

It should be better since the last release though if using a version three theme. Pressing the arrow buttons will release the menu. Literally the only thing you cant do is scroll the horizontal menu.

The arrow-fix works great. What I meant by not being able to scroll is that if I wanted to look at the screenshot or something for the game in the list, I have to click it and open the page instead of just hovering over it like normal on an arcade cab. It would just be easier to navigate with a double-click.

Would love to see more HTPC aspects to GameEx. I am a long-time user of Beyond TV (from SnapStream) and envision GameEx being the all-in-one "wrapper" around Beyond TV's excellent recording capabilities.

If you are going to post a request, you should actually do it... Tom will consider adding anything that is suggested, but just saying "make it better than it is now" is a rather difficult feature to add. There are a lot of features that are in GameEx specifically for the HTPC crowd as is, so if there's more specifically that you would like to see, post a list so Tom can consider them!

Welcome to the forum!

So just a couple little requests to start off with? ;)

:)

Yeah, I start off slowly and then ramp up. I don't want to overwhelm, you know! ;)

My personal opnion? This thread is no longer contributing anything worthwile to the board. Were I mod and I was once, a long time ago on another board. I would probably lock the heck out of it.

But thats just me
