headkaze
I rekon this is a Wizard issue? The Setup Wizard has now been updated to allow changing order and sorting emulators without screwing up your favorites. It should be out in the next release.
lexloofah
Hi I think it would be a good idea to have a custom music option for each emulator or page on gameEx.so if you wanted to scroll through NES games you could have 'Super Mario' Music playing, or Genesis games and have 'sonic' music etc etc. Thanks for listening
headkaze
A nice feature idea to make debugging easier in the future. When the GameEx log is displayed on an error, there could be a button to "Send Error Report to Specsoft". There is probably a small percentage of users that have a crash and don't spend the time to report it on the forum. This way you can browse through error messages sent to the server and identify common problems. You could also add a special check in GameEx when it boots to see if it crashed last time it ran, and give the option to send an error report then also. mental
I have a feature request which is already in GameEx but this is a change I think would be useful.I wonder is it possible to add a parameter to the mouse emulation so that individual programs could be started with their own mouse speed. IE program one could be set to use mouse speed of 6 and maybe program two would use a mouse speed of say 10?I ask because I find this mouse emulation very useful but some software is best run using a faster or slower mouse than others are.Thanks. bkenobi
1) Please add an option to disable the scroll wheel! I don't want the mouse used that way and apparently GameEx is going around Windows to access the scroll wheel (I have it disabled in the registry and it doesn't work in windows, but it does in GameEx).2) It would be really nice to have an option to use the mouse as movement input (scroll up and down list) rather than a mouse (see and control the cursor). These two requests are aimed at my driving cabinet, but could be very useful if anyone wants to use a trackball or spinner. I have a script that accomplishes (2), but 1 is really a problem.
smbergie200
I just have one feature request. I have this awesome Intro .AVI video that I would like to start up when I launch Gamex instead of the default Gamex Waiting to load static screen. If this was possible I would be the happiest gamer in the world. Much thanx for considering my request - Shayne

bkenobi
I actually requested #2 a long time ago. How did you set it up to get it to work?Turns out that the script doesn't work. the mouse was actually hovering over the menu item so it appeared to work, but it wasn't. I have not found any way to get this to work yet. I suggest adding this request to the "most wanted features" thread so it might get some attention! Very cool idea, could even make it transparent, so it does not askyou each time like windows, which is kind of anoying.
Tom Speirs
Hi Tom. I've been creating playlists in WMP11 and playing them in GameEX (which is great !) and i'm using WMP library option in jukebox but i have a problem. When i select the playlist name it starts playing my playlist but it does not display the tracklist. Most of the time this is no problem - i can recall the track titles by ear but the problem is i have a lot of instrumental / electronic tracks which have no lyrics (which makes it difficult to guess their name because i don't have much to go on) and the odd time when i have people round i sometimes have no answer if they ask 'What is That ?'. In a HTPC setup it would be easy to look them up with some variation of WMP but in an arcade cab it's awkward. Is there any/way chance of producing a tracklisting of your playlist in a future release ?Thanks, iano. Can you not just view the currenty play list. Im asking because if not its probably a bug rather than feature. You access the current playlist by accessing the bottom menu item on the left. What threw me was the fact that when i selected the playlist (although it started playing) i assumed that it would show the playlist instead of displaying all the songs in my library (track title view). Doh !

Adultery
since your on the topic of updating the game list maybe you can have a list of all available games for every emulator. just show either you have the game or your missing it from your collection. i dought this is for everyone but i do have this addiction of collecting every game possible. kinda like a hobby. That, my friend, is what Cowering's GoodTools are for.Link Link

I keep an archived version of his sets on dvd but I prefer a nice lean NoIntro set in my cabinet... I've no need for 15 versions of the same game Stu

You know I always respect your input. However, a GoodMerge complete set (with duplicates and all compressed into a .7z file) my ROM sets take up nearly the same amount of space on my hard drive as a full NoIntro set. I'm a collector and I feel like I need every copy of every game to have a complete library, so I'm all about GoodMerge. Especially with GameEx's 7-zip support, which is still on my top 5 list for best features.Just an opinion and a suggestion for a fellow collector in a similar situation. Yeah I agree totally I could never get rid of my Cowering dvd archives I spent years gathering them in a time before broadband and single torrents containing a whole set... that was all part of the fun though, trying to track down the last few games out of 3000 odd even know your never gonna play them but for my cabinet though I decided to have as few dupes as possible, not to save space but because I was fed up with my mates asking which version they should run everytime, so I took the NoIntro sets and then thinned them down even more so I now only have 1 of each game... now if GameEx had an option to select the best version of a rom when you opened a 7zip.... nudge nudge Tom Stu
enoch
Ahhh. I only keep a few hundred sets, and tend to stay with American ones, particularly those I'm familiar with. As well, some hacks are okay, and I haven't explored the wealth of them, but I tend toward the standard sets.
enoch
I noticed in Tom's vids that he has bacground video running on his. I'm guessing there's a way to do a lot of things wanted, skin-wise, but you have to get your hands dirty.
jonestones
I would like to be able to configure GameEx to not disable the Windows screensaver or have it's own option to turn off the monitor after x number minutes. I would like for my monitor to turn off after 30 minutes of inactivity instead of having to flip a power switch.

TX_TRINITY
I'd love a way to scale the output of my 4:3 PC onto my PC to show 16:9 movies on my 16:9 tv... Can do it with Mame and so on but when cycling through the aspect options I don't have a stretch to full screen or a 16:9 aspect option, lots of 16:9 to 4:3 but not the other way round. I may be doing something wrong tho but I'm not able to have a default aspect for movie playback in force. Please help!
kenclops
Now that Gameex can continue on even if the startup video doesn't work, is there any way to have Gameex play a picture instead of a video in a background them in case the background video crashes? I know in each theme you can have a bak.png and a bak.avi and it'll play the avi. But if the background avi crashes, is there anyway to have it cut to the corresponding png?Tom that would be awesome if you could do that.

WMV files now use WMP in GameEx so as to play DRM'd content. Other formats should have an aspect though. Can you give a bit more detail?
