I'd like to second the 7zip support integrated via the DLL method if it wasn't too much hassle cause some of them games take ages to extract

As an avid 7z user, I have to triple that notion.

I use an IPAC and use a different profile for each game/program. I would like to have run before and run after for external apps as well as emulators. Currently I use them as emulators, but then have to go to the second screen and choose play game to start the app. Maybe get rid of "external apps" altogether and add a few options to the emulators to turn on and off this functionality.

I'm not the least bit crazy about that idea. I use the External Apps section of GameEx. So if one was to do that, make it an enable / disable feature.

My feature request:

The sreensaver is awesome! I'm sure everyone would agree. However, your seperate screensaver app you created displays a nice MAME screen with the ROM title before launching the game. Any way you could do that in GameEx? I use other emulators in my Attract Mode and it's harder to quit GameEx and pop open the LOG file if I see a game that looks cool and don't know what it's called... Especially since Run Last Game only works for MAME titles.

Ill look at adding Also Launch After, but just for your info therell be no need to use External applications at all in the next version. You can already seetup an emulator as an app, but in the next release yourll be abel to overide the show game info page for each emulator.

I mainly have to use external app for mouse emulation. Plus Its nice to have emu and pc apps seperated. Thanks for the hard work!

You can do mouse emulation with emulators (advanced config file)

After talking to HK, it sounds like there may be a user configurable CP viewer in the works, so my previous request may not be as important...

But, I was just thinking about another feature. Since GameExtender already is installed on most of the registered installations, would it be possible to collect BASIC statistics (assuming the user agreed to it). My thought was take the games played (time, count, etc) and make a "GameExtender Favorites" item next to favorites. This could be either a single list or multiple lists or maybe filters.

I think this could really be an interesting way to see what games the world plays and perhaps find new ones. It would also help new people to MAME (and console emulators I suppose) get a good start finding quality games.

Any app that doesn't like to be remapped, I use AutoHotkey to launch first, then the game, then on game exit, I use pskill to terminate the AutoHotkey process. This works ok.... now with some simple batch, but isn't 100% reliable.

Read post #398 of this thread. Tom has already addressed this feature request. I and many others wanted something similiar. I think Tom may gone above and beyond our request on this one.

I have one feature that i thik it would be very important to gameex. It´s the abiliti to delete games (from emulators, or mame list), but not only from the list, also from the hard disk. It could be helpfull to make a better clear list in gameex.

I just don't understand the reasoning here, because having rom files on your disc won't affect the gamelist if it's told to exclude those titles already. Say that you actually delete the .zip-file and that is the parent rom and you want to play a clone, that won't work anymore. You will ONLY gain diskspace...

I have some emulators that zip roms don´t have the same name of the game inside. A lot of roms have cut names, and i don´t know what rom is inside.

But inside gameex, it takes the rom name, and it show as is, and you can see what rom is. If you don´t want that rom, you have the posibilitie to delete from list, and hard disk.

Excuse my very bad english.

Open up the Advanced Configuration app and enter Advanced MAME settings. On the last page (I think) you'll see a list of your "excluded games". Those are the romnames of the games you want to delete. Now all you have to do is delete them from your rom folder. I however can't recommend you do this.

I know this has been requested before, but I haven't heard anything about it recently. I would really like to be able to have multiple buttons assigned to the same function in GameEx. I want to be able to map both player 1 and 2 to the same inputs so player 1 isn't the only one who can pick a game. It's kinda awkward when you have to move out of the way for someone else to pick a game, then move back (I have stools). Doesn't seem too difficult.

I know I could use JoyToKey, but I would rather do it without extra programs running and using resources.

I've just purchsed GameEx and have noticed one thing that would make it 'complete' for me.

The ability to put other emulators ("Commodore 64", "Sega Genesis", etc) on the main menu page and remove all other options like "News", "Configuration", "Multimedia", etc.

All I want on the main page is:

MAME

Commodore 64

Sega Genesis

Most Played

Favorites

Exit/Shutdown (Though I'd like to be able to hide this if possible).
