Loads up the last game I played with ePSXe. Video and Audio working.

This is with no Emulator or GameEx running when I open it.

When I run the File Verifier I get this

ROMFilter (*.mdf): No files found in "C:\Roms\PSX".

ROMFilter (*.bin): No files found in "C:\Roms\PSX".

Game Manuals Path: "C:\Emulation\Assets\Console\Sony PlayStation\Manuals\" does not exist.

Map File: "C:\Program Files\GameEx\CONFIG\[Console] Sony Playstation.map.map" does not exist.

The first 3 don't concern me because, well..there aren't any of those types of files for a reason right now.

I don't understand the map file though. Is that for keymapping?

The mapfile can be helpful for displaying game names correctly in gameex. If your roms are "good sets", they will have a name like romname(u)(b1)(prototype).zip (I MADE THAT UP!) Instead of displaying that in your gamelist, if you use a mapfile, it will display Romname. If your roms are just gamename.zip, then a map file isn't necessary. The reason that it says "map does not exist", is because when you browse for it, you will need to remove the .map extension, because Gameex adds it on hence "sony playstation.map.map"

So far as the volume issue goes, it does seem that it is a ffdshow issue....BRIAN???

Id be courious to see if MP3 play using crazy volume through gameex before making any type of judgment.

I just tried the 2 files in the Jukebox. Symphony 9 and..something else. They both played at perfect Volume. I have the Music Volume set to 50. in GameEx.

Then Im pretty sure its not a gameex issue.. However... Which videos files have this problem... Maybe we can narrow it down to a codec.

I think I can see where Brian was going with this, since the audio files play correctly, you've narrowed it down to the video codec. I love watching a genuis at work! (there's my mandatory suck up for the week  )

Of course if I'm wrong, he'll be along to correct me in a minute. ;)

Damn Brian, I either need to take a typing class, or get a faster connection...

It's probably just something with the videos, they way they were captured or something. I don't know. Maybe just my players. The only Video snaps I have right now are a lot of .avi for N64 games. They all came from the same source, so it could be that.

Anways, I've setup PSX now, and once again I'm running into issues. I think I'm the worst person at this in the entire world. I think it all comes down to what you put in "Command Line" and I am clueless.

When I load a Rom in PSX, through GameEx, it does the white screen with the PS1 logo then cuts straight to the memory card screen. If I load the game not in GameEx it works fine.

So yea, I'm pretty sure all of the issues I've been having are just user error when I setup the emulators in GameEx.

I'll be back in a couple hours, load up those configs for me so I can see the correct way to do it =D

I'm just jumping in again....He's trying to play Game previews, I assume they are .AVI, and at the top of this thread, we had him download FFDshow from the GX website...

They are .AVI right VOXX? Brian needs the short story.....

Lord, now that I got my gamepad today it really is annoying to have to wheel back over to the desk everytime I want to go back to GameEx cuz I know the video is going to be too loud.

Does anyone know how to get into the config for FDDshow so I can mess around?
