Any1 have the CPS-3 emulator setup in Game Ex? I Have tried the base import files but it seems like maybe something is missing from the command line? I dunno. It tries to launch a game but all I get is a black screen. A Lil help here please :)

Why not use mame to emulate cps3? This way you have one nice complete list?

Anyway it should be emulator.exe romname

I thought the emulation in the cps-3 emulator was a lil better? (I could be wrong ya know) :) so put for the command line part emulator.exe romname no [] or nothing of the sort?

well Elsemi's CPS3 emulator is not better anymore. Elsemi and HAze from mamedev worked together. Tho Elsemi was the first usuable emulator for CPS3.

Id make 7 batch files... Thats about how many games it supports.

Id also be assuming it works outside gameex... Is that correct?

If so put this in your CPS3 directory and tell me if it works... Its a batch file.. Just unzip

cps3.zip

Test this config. use the gameex advanced config and setup as an emulator.

If it works Ill explain how to add more games.

Romfilter=*.bat

Workingpath= cps3 directory

rompath=cps3 directory

command="[rompath]/[romfile]"

Thanx Brian but I just saw the almighty and powerful game ex guru Nologic looking at this so I'll wait to see what he says :)

lol

I guess that makes you chopped liver Brian. That's gratitude for ya. :lol:

Nah it ain't like that at all. Nologic just has a way of making things work & at the same time explaining it to people who are a lil slow (like myself) for example look how long it took me to get zinc working. I did get it to work using Brian's method, now all I have to do is get it to exit cleanly.

I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it, just sounded bad. ;)

I didn't mean to hurt any1 feelings etc. Like I said I did get it to work using Brian's method. I am in the process of making more bat files and renaming screenshots. Thank you Brian. I didn't mean any disrespect at all. I think i'll take my leave for awhile.

I would like to speak for the whole group in saying that we are not trying to hurt your feelings either. It was just funny, and I for one feel obligated to poke fun when its so easy. If you stop posting, even for a little while, we can only assume that we have hurt your feelings, and I can assure you that was not our intentions. We know you didn't mean anything by it, but you have to admit it was hilarious (at least from our point of view)

Stick around, and keep posting!

I'm not going anywhere guys.. ;)

But to be honest I was taken a little back.. I first suggested using Emulator.exe "[romfile]"

But then you would need a mapfile to make the names look pretty.. I thought batchfiles were pretty straight forward. Tho its not the cleanest way it works.

We have a very diverse user group here and I know NoLogic has done alot for the forum and its users. So its only natural to to see if there is an easier method or perhaps an already prepared mapfile and config.

However all the time that is spent here is my own and if someone doesnt want my help I have no problems not giving it.

Like anyone else who here that contributes on a regular basis all that is wanted is some thanks.

Oh well.... I really am not upset and can take smartassed comments just as I give them. :)

Don't take this the wrong way, but I was talking to DJ Infinty, who said

I think i'll take my leave for awhile
.

I personaly think he was just trying to show Nologic some appreciation.

I'm glad to hear you'll be around too. :D

You know Brian, I did this play-by-play matched the X's with X's and O's with O's. Now how can I add more games to get it to run on GameEx? I made 6 batch files and when I tried to run one of the games, it started but also at the same time, the screen returned to the GameEx. So basically, I had street fighter III running and also the front-end menu screen of GameEx. I have the feeling it had something to do with the command line. Thanks for the help in advance soldier.

Make sure the batch file doesn't exit prior to quiting the game. If it does, it will return to GameEx. Alternately, there is a way to have it watch for the game's process to quit. This is in the FAQ.

Ahh sorry Brian, I am kind of having trouble uploading the file. But it's basically like your .bat file but I have it like this on my note pad: "start emulator.exe sfiii3a", start emulator.exe jojo. That's for all 6 but of course different games. They're all under the same folder as the emu. Sorry bkenobi that I didn't think to look in the forums, my initial thought was to ask because I was screaming my head off like Arnold did in Predator when he raised the flaming torch calling out the Predator.

Here is a picture of how it looks though.emuex.doc
