Hi

I recently restarted my mame project but when I try to run GameEX my menus keeps blinking so its impossible to choose or even see what it says. actually no the menues but the text in them.

GameEX is newest version.

GFX card RIVA TNT2 newest driver from nvidia.

Resolution: 640x480 16 bit (its all my arcade monitor can handle)

Pentium4 512mb ram.

Windows XP SP2 with all updates

Framework 2.0 SP1

DirectX 9.0c

I think I pretty much tried all the different settings in video options, so I guess something else is wrong.

Hope someone here has a solution.

Holy cow. I thought I had an old card with an Nvidia GeForce TI 200. I haven't heard of a TNT2 probably this century. ;)

Definitely check out the thread about if GameEx is sluggish or slow:

I wouldn't think that the TNT card would be able to handle much of GamEx or at least not very well. How do you have your arcade monitor hooked up to the video card?

Hmm, it is obviously the driver. I tried the older one from the FAQ, didnt work.

Tehn I tried another GFX card GeForce 5200 and that one works perfect.

Guess I just have to find another card that fit in the PC a little better than the 5200 *lol*

Thanks anyway.

Well Im old school ;) I even have some PCI cards around I think from S3 ;)

But I thought any AGP card could handle GameEx, how else can an arcade monitor and mine is new enough to be able to run 640x480 in VGAmode, so its just hooked up normally. No ArcadeVGA card needed.

Its from an old Virtua Striker machine. 21 inch I believe. Just redid the Virtua Striker to Mame instead.

I have an S3 Virge card in my step-sons computer. I had a TNT2 for a long time also. Brian's right, it is a good card. Glad you got it working.
