Hey everybody! I stopped in for a quick moment! Been working like crazy.

Anyone know how to fix the whole Steam/Gameex issue?

I click on Half-life 2 in gameex which is the whole -applaunch link.

Steam loads, but gameex says "game over" and goes back into gameex. But then, the steam game takes over and Half-Life 2 is running in the fore-ground, but there's music from the jukebox in gameex in the background. How do you fix this?

I think this has been addressed prior...so give search a try...other wise your basically looking at launcher...so you need to make GameEx wait till all process have exited not just steam.

i would make sure steam is running in background before you try and launch game in gameex. because if your online, it has to connect to your account and gameex will probly think thats the program you wanted to run then you close it.

Steam loads up when Windows starts up. So, it's already running. As for searching through previous threads, I typed in the word steam and gameex to no avail.

This is the only thread that I could find searching under the keyword Steam. I have a shortcut folder just like it says in the thread. But the problem stems from the fact that it still plays Gameex music in the background while the game plays. I don't want to have to listen to Enya - Orinoco Flows while playing Doom 3.

I don't know whats worse... having Enya on your computer or not knowing that Doom 3 was made by id not Valve.

Just kidding. Ok, not really! :P

Good luck getting this fixed.

Hey, Enya's cool. Just not with Doom.

Anyone else have any ideas of how to fix the problem with Steam so that Gameex doesn't play music in the background?

Again, in gameex, I click on Half Life Source. Gameex minimizes and Steam loads the game. But then Gameex thinks Steam is done so it goes back to Gameex. While back in Gameex, Half Life Source loads up and takes over the screen. Gameex music is playing in the background.

Tom, any ideas?

So, I figured out the problem only to find another.

Steam was starting up at windows. That can't happen.

Now, I'm on a Win Xp HOME version. The problem I'm having now

is closing STEAM after I exit a game. XP HOME doesn't use taskkill, but

it does use tskill. I've tried putting tskill steam in the launch after, launch also boxes

but it doesn't work. For now, I've created a bat on my desktop that uses the tskill steam

command and it closes it, but is there another more discreet way to take of this?

Yes! Use PSKILL.exe its free and included in the PSTOOLS suite.

Its a very small/clean and effecient app. Ive been using it for a very long time.

Its CLI driven and is exactly what you need.

I'm having a few issues with Steam and GE. I'm trying to launch Flipside. My first issue is after launching flipside from GE it returns back to GE and then back to Flipside. No matter if I launch Steam with or without starting Windows. Another issue is changing my key config with an I-Pac. I assume since I'm launching the game via. a lnk file. No batch files will work to change my keys.

I don't know about steem, but you should be able to change your key config using the launch before/after. Right?

I've tried that. I assume it's not working because I'm launching the game via. a .lnk file. It works for other emu's that I launch via. an .exe file
