What am I doing wrong?

Well every time I go to laod a game it jsut sits on a black screen does this with and emu and setup I try.. Here is my config and log of the Jnes..

The first thing I notice is your path has spaces... So you need to use "" when specifying a path to a file that has spaces.....

Change

EMU_1_Command=jnes.exe [ROMPath]\[RomFile]

to

EMU_1_Command=jnes.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"

so when it launches the game it will be like this.....

jnes.exe "c:\my docs\my games\my rom.zip"

Why you need quotes

when specifying command line arguments it will stop..by default before the carrot

c:\my^ docs\my games\my rom.zip

Thefore ending the command... Dos doesnt understand spaces very well.

Also I would use nestopia... I think its better..

ok did a little reconfig now i get it to load I hear the music of the game and can tell I am playing but no video.. If i launch the emu by itself it launches fine.. any thoughts.

Set show desktop to true...

Have you tried running the RUNLASTGAME.bat in the gameex programs group in the start menu...

This way you can see exactly what command gameex is using to load the emu.

And if it works w/o gameex

weird that that dont load it right either.. i hear the game but dont see anything... when I open the emu directly it all loads and runs fine.

So how did you finally fix this? I have the same problem. I was having the problem with zsnes but changing show desktop fixed it. Gens just gives me the black screen. I've looked at a bunch of configs and don't know why mine isn't working.

I'm trying to use the following emulators: zsnes, gens, stella, nestopia, project64

I wish gameex would just default to the right settings. I'm running windows xp. I don't know why my set up would be any different than the typical one.

Frankly I've never gotten Gens to work or any of its siblings....Surreal works...but stays in memory for me.

I'd suggest switching over to Kega Fusion instead for Sega.

You'll run into issues when using an Emu that makes use of OpenGL render's...there are ways around this issue...I'm just somewhat slow at providing them currently...till such a point you'll likely be forced to show the Desktop.

There is some trial and error involved with things currently...but there always will be to some degree...but I'm working on resolving a number of these hurdles.

So hang in there...there is hope.
