Atttract mode

Mine (4.68) tries to go into attract mode but always fails, although if i try the last game from the menu the game runs fine. This is since a fresh install rather than an upgrade so I guess its an ini issue?

Any ideas guys, would love to have this back again?

Are you still having this problem? Can you go into more detail as to what happens when it "fails" to go into attract mode?

Since upgrading to 4.72 my attract mode will not switch games...it stays on the first game after going into attract mode.

Are you giving it long enough, it takes about 3-4 minutes?

Does the game exit if you press any key, or just escape?

Aso if Gamepad button 6, or keys 3, 5 or 6 are pressed the game wont exit. Could that be it?

Yes, before upgrading it used to switch games periodically while in attract mode but now I have seen it run the same game in attract mode for well over 30 minutes without switching....and it never does switch games. And yes the games do exit whenever I press any key, though it is usually delayed a few seconds after pressing a key before it dumps back to GameEx....this (games exiting from attract mode on key press) has been an issue for me for a long time, but the games not switching in attract mode is a new issue that just started with 4.72. I have a cab w/SlikStik Classic and no gamepad installed...just a Logitech USB wheel and pedals and ActLabs USB gun, but no buttons are pressed on them when this occurs.

I have been upgrading over the top of old versions...maybe I need to do a fresh install of GameEx? These are not huge problems for me but any help is greatly appreciated.

I looked into this and timed attract mode, each game is supposed to run for 3 minutes, but seemed to run for 10 minutes on my system. Ive fixed the issue by changing the timing code, and the next version should fix this. It also has quite a few more attract mode options including being able to play videos and specify how long each game runs for. I am sure it will fix your issue. Should be out next few days.
