Hello,

Just curious to see if anybody has Ultra 64 emu working. I can only run Killer Instinct 1 & 2 Flawlessly with this Emu. If anyone has an Idea or knows how to, your help will be greatly appreciated. My system is almost complete, donations are pending if I can get this going! Great Forum, Great Peeps, Great program... THx

There are probably a few other threads about this... I remember posting my exact feelings about this emu...

This emu suffers from major timing issues.. Id recommend using MAME .96 to emulate this if your systems is lets say SUB PAR....

On a happier note.. With builds 119U4 and 120 I can fun fullspeed again... I use a 3hz pc and a 2 gig dualcore... I can get full speed from both...

Not to avoid your question tho... I will post my config for it once I

A.) Find it....

B.) Re create it,

real Quickly, How would i Have 2 Mame's Configured, If i do get .96??

Id set it up as an emu....

Id create two bat files that call both games.

Example..

------KINST---------------

@echo off

c:

cd c:\mame96\

mame kinst -joy -fullscreen

------KINST2------------------

@echo off

c:

cd c:\mame96\

mame kinst2 -joy -fullscreen

Id save both of these as batchfiles in the c:\mame96 folder

ROMFILTER= *.bat

WORKING PATH= c:\mame96

ROMPATH= c:\mame96

Command= "[rompath]\[romfile]" (This by itself will call whichever batfile you select)

ok, sounds goood, will try it after work. Also, i have a question. Since i'm using an x-arcade, and dont want any keyboard use, how would i set it up, so i can close any application i run from GameEx with the x-arcade? Like holding down a certain button for a few seconds, or holding a series of buttons? right now i press Escape.... would like to be able to do it through the x-arcade..... Thx agian Brian...

Thats easy... For MAME goto input settings and other controls and look for UI CANCEL..

Redefine this... Any key sequence wou want....

This will close mame and hence bring gameex into focus.

As for the other emu look for advanced controls.. or use Xpadder to map your key sequece to ESC

Also, when you say u64 has timing issues, do you mean during gameplay??

Yes all over the place....

Intros go too fast at times..Among the ingame issues. It just doesnt feel right.

yah i know what your talking about, but i downloaded a newer version of u64, the platinum edition, and it fixes the videos and intro scenes, the gameplay is great, only bad thing is character selection, they slowed that down. aside from that its great. i will try all of these scnarios later, the old mame, the new mame, and u64. Can't wait for that u64 emu config u mentioned earlier. thx agian Brian

Ok i already had .119u3 mame32 which is what i use in gameEx already, so i ran ki by itself outsife of GameEX, and it ran FULL SPEED with no hang ups. Very slick. But when i play it in GameEx, it goes very choppy and sluggish, and the sound gets garbled... is GameEx a Resource Hog? Any tips to increase performance would be good. I already disabled alpha blending and all the extra things i could find in the configuration.......

What I mean is that GameEx should work great and most everything else should work fine with GameEx running. I haven't seen a case where something runs great from Windows and Poorly with GameEx running.

I guess what I was trying to say is that GameEx isn't really a resource hog.

Well what happens is that users use mame32 they load the game and it works fine....

mame32 passes its own arguments as defined by game...

When you launch from gameex it passes its own arguments... IE -tripplebuffer

Which will really affect massive games like killerinstct which will suck every resource you have by itself.
