Just wondered which one you guys recommend. Which is the best for compatibility, ease of setup in GameEx etc

All opinions/guidance gratefully received.

I go with pSX 1.13 myself, maybe other emulators have better features, pluggins and what not but for ease of use this thing rocks, compatibility from what I've tried is amazing... I don't play playstation alot on my cab but every game I've wanted to try has worked like a charm, I've no issues with it at all

I prefer ePSXe. It's a lot of work to do the configuration with "Delta" for every single game. But with this method I have the best results. (on speed AND visual side because of shader support)

But if you are quite new to emulators and GameEx, I would recommend pSX. It's a great emulator, it gives you the old classic playstation look, it is easy to configurate in GameEx and has a great compatiblity. (especially after the last update).

Couldn't agree more, you'll prob get better results with ePSXe, if you can be bothered pissing about with the settings but I have 1500 iso's stored on my cab so there's no way I'm gonna be bothered setting them all up any time soon :) I'm also using an ArcadVGA for graphics which wouldn't handle anything fancy like shaders anyway

I only have a handfull of games and I use epsxe. I use bat files to launch the games because I can define game specific switches which make the emulation better for that particular game.

But If I had 1500 Id opt to go with PSX emu

pSX is hands down the easiest to use IMHO.

I may need to give pSX another look, but I spent the time (with much help from this forum) to set up epsxe with delta (making configs for each game) and I'm quite happy with the results thus far. I'd be interested in knowing any stumbling blocks (non compatibility, etc) people have run into with pSX. I know a couple other people who are wanting me to help them set up an emulation center, and I am not thrilled about the idea of training them all to set up delta, nor would I like to configure their games myself. There's one thing I do know for sure, I will be suggesting they all register a copy of GameEx ;)

Thanks for the replies everyone.

As I've a got a fair few iso's I think I'm going to go the pSX route, as configuring every game with ePSXe seems like a lot of effort.

Is there a great deal of difference between the output of these emulators? If it's that much of a difference then I may be tempted to put the work in, if it's going to produce vastly superior results.

Well I enjoy the finalfantasy series so I use espxe. As last I heard psx still had issues with these series.
