nulldc gamepad option?!

Ok I've got myself a new gamepad (saitek p2600). Now how the hell do I use it in nulldc? Tried the config keys option but it wont recognise a button press or anything. (yes all drivers are installed and functioning correctly).

I think most people were using XPadder to convert joystick presses to key presses and configuring NullDC to use the keyboard input.

Xpadder ok. Saw it mentioned on here before but didnt know what it was. Will google, thanks a lot.
