help with psx

Hi Tom,

Yes! I would absolutely LOVE to handle this aspect for your official product. You've probably noticed that I have put a lot of thought into my current "script", and would be very pleased to re-create it in a proper way in C# for the official product.

Give me a basic rundown of how you'd like it to work (basic config structure you'd like to see, where to pull it from, parameters, etc) and I'll run with it from there.

I've added "built-in" joy-to-key mappings to my app now too, BTW. I'm using it so I can play VPinmame with my gamepad. Trying to avoid needing lots of little helper scripts for different apps. I think I've worked through most of the quirky scenarios that are needed at this point.

Please post the contents of your batch file that calls KeyMonitor.exe. It must be exactly as I posted above in order for it to work.

Okay, now when you say it "does the exact same thing", on the first try, what exactly is it doing? Is GameEx returning immediately, or is it not returning when you exit?

If does not return on exit, if you press ctl-alt-del to look at the task list, did epsxe really fully exit? Is Keymonitor.exe still running?

ok this is exactly what happens when i press esc

i cant see my start menu but i can see my desktop shortcuts when i press ctl-alt-del i see cmd.exe and gameex.exe running i dont see epsxe.exe or Keymonitor.exe

the only way to get back to gameex is to close cmd.exe

What is this doing? Try removing it from your config.

LaunchBefore=C:\launchbefore.bat

i removed that and it doesnt make a difference

i tryed removeing LaunchAfter=pause

this causes my first problem when gameex would open epsxe and then go right back to gameex

Oh geeze, how did I miss that?

Try this keymonitor and see if it's any different. Leave the pause OUT of the config file.

Yeah I was having the same problem myself, fixed now thanks to this proggy.

Cheers.....my htpc/cabinet is nearly done!!!! (after 5 months!!!)

All I have left ot do is go through all 600 psx iso's and create epsxecutor configs for them

=)

djrobx: Perhaps this program can solve ALL emulation problems emerging from .lnk/.bat/.ahk use? I see that you've added support for joy-to-key mappings. Any chance of adding AutoHotKey and AutoIt support as well? That would indeed rock and make PC/DC game through GameEx so much easier.

Tom, perhaps this project should have a sticky thread? So the non-noobs that want's to test it can report problems without flooding the GameEx forum?

I am sortof halfway noob....I used to be really techy but now I am getting older.

However making a batch file was easy enough...took me back to the good old days.

Yes, YOUR problem was in older versions. But I still have issues with loading of auto-hot-key scripts and disc image mounting. And I know for sure that I'm not alone. :blink: See here: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=1173

I miss him too emph. I mailed him a couple of times, but got no response. So I removed his moderator status as a security measure. He's likely just got very busy. At least I hope it's that.

umm u dont need to mount any images even if u just use epsx u send a command same with epsxecutor

this is the command

here i made a screenshot

you do that for each game u config

make the .lnk files make a cmd.exe files in the same directory as your .lnk files

you need to config it to what you like and its also good for games like final fantasy 7 where u have to turn on that one patach
