I just updated from 8.78 to 8.83 earlier this evening, so my update process doesn't even keep up with the new releases. That's awesome. Keep it up. :)

This build was crashing my system everytime I selected an emulator. I was writing this very post when the update dropped. The problem up and disappeared! That's service! :D

Just another good reason to turn auto-reporting on! Great job Tom! :)

I was surprised to see my own language in GameEx after the last update.. Good job Bitmind (& Tom ofcorz ;) )

I noticed that the Pictures slideshow no longer works, after an update from 8.78 -> 8.84. I'll admit I didn't investigate it further, as we were busy gaming on the cab all night. :)

I'll see if I get a chance to check it out this weekend.

I just updated GameEx to v8.88, and still have problems with the picture slideshow (worked in v8.78 and earlier).

I can open an image one at a time, and browse through them manually. Its just the automated slideshow, where nothing happens.

Following is a screenshot of the image folder, and one where the slideshow hangs and never starts.

gameexslideshow1jj0.jpg

Here's the last couple of lines from the log. The only thing I did, was to go directly into the image folder, and trying to start a slideshow. Not sure if GameEx normally logs the image/slideshow feature, but here it is:

Well, I didn't really get any further. I haven't had that much time lately to fiddle with it. But its on my list of things to do.

Posted

Yeah, I don't have any theories either, so if I ever figure it out, it's by trying something random. Changing themes didn't fix it for me, as I thought it might have.

Posted

yeah i tried that too. There isn't much to change in the setup for slideshow.

Has anyone else out there got this problem? I wonder if everyone has checked since the last update?

Can you both post what video cards using, and whether ATI, Nvidia?

I have a Nvidia GeForce FX 5900XT with 128mb's of ram. I'm not running the latest ForceWare drivers though, as I had problems with the TV-Out signal on versions 70.xx and up (if i remember the version number correctly).

I can get a dxdiag log for you later, if that'll help you in any way.

Slideshow stopped working for me too. I don't know what GameEx update caused it to stop but I'd say it happened around 1 to 2 months ago. I have an Nvidia GeForce 6800 with 128 MB graphics memory. Running forceware drivers v 93.71 which I have been using since March 2007. I am using the VGA out. I have attached the GameEx log.

Thanks!

ok I have updated my ati radeon drivers, but slideshow still broken.

I'm sure it happened in the last update as I use the slideshow quite a bit.

oh well, just have to play games for a while :)

Ok, I tried some stuff, like upgrading the nvidia drivers, and changing different display options, but I couldn't get it to work again. So I'm giving up on it, as I have no clue what to try next.

Although I think its a cool feature, for me its not a huge deal, as I'm still able to flip through the galleries manually. So I wouldn't mind if it took a while for Tom to fix, if it is a general problem. Heck, I know from myself that bugfixing can be tedious, so by all means, I think he should focus on the fun stuff, like adding cool new features. :)

I'm just impressed by all the hard work Tom has put into this project.
