Ok, initially I just put all my mp3s into the appropriate folder for GameEX and they showed up fine. However, they were all mixed together and unorganized. I decided to take a huge amount of time to organize them and re-tag them. I created a new folder for each album, put a .jpeg in each of the album cover and named it folder.jpg. After all that, now when I load the mp3s up in GameEX, they're still all unorganized and showing info that isn't in the mp3s anymore. Is there some kind of .ini or config file I need to delete for GameEX to re-search the mp3s? I've edited the id tags for every mp3 I have, so I don't know what else to do now.

Use windows mediaplayer to rescan mp3 directory..

Gameex will use this info if configured... See audio settings in advanced config

Im attaching a pic.

I'd guess you hame the option enabled that uses media player library..

Media library alredy made its database using old info... You updated ID3 tags but not the mediaplayer db to reflect those changes...

Just a guess

Thanks, that worked great. The only thing is I have to go back and re-tag half my songs because a lot of them are from greatest hits albums, which is what I tagged them as. So, when I click on something like Journey's greatest hits, ALL the songs from all the greatest hits albums are listed. So, I'll have to go back and change the album name to Journey - Greatest Hits so that it can tell the difference.

I know, i had this problem with albums same name - Greatest Hits, Best Of etc but now i am aware of it i can retag after rip. All good from their on in though.

Warning: Religious argument follows. Please regard/disregard accordingly.

I've got a pretty monstrous mp3 collection (mainly live bootlegs and rare/out of print stuff). Its a *bitch* of a job to tag them all, even with tools like the awesome Tag & Rename. For me, I sort mine into folders (D:\mp3\genre\artist\year - album\## - trackname).. but of course, this is no good when organising via ID3 tags like GameEx can do.

For me, the closest thing to jukebox nirvana used to be SK Jukebox.. I say "used to be" because I've recently seen the "wrap view" feature on the latest "XBox Classic" skin (http://blackbolt.x-scene.com/) for XBMC (warning: requires the latest T3CH version). It seems to cache folder structures and folder.jpg's for quick access. Clearing the cache is a bit painful, but can be done.

edit: good thing I said "used to.." - SalmonKing has evidentally laid SKJukebox to rest...!

hmm can't find any vids or decent snapshots of the view in question, but check http://blackbolt.x-scene.com/index.php?p=s...cat=xboxclassic .

ok, sermon over :).... and I know having a localised database full of ID3 tags offers its benefits, but for me and my folder based mp3 collection, this is easily the best mp3 browsing interface I've come across so far.

Cheers,

Brett
