Hey everyone, new to posting here. First I just want to say that this is by far the best FE I have ever used. I'm kinda shocked this thing is free(once I get some issues fixed I will be more than happy to donate, I want this thing to continue) . Anyway, I have a few issues. First, the jukebox. I can't seem to get this thing to play any playlists on startup other than "All music". I have made a playlist that does show up in the jukebox and I can select it but it never uses it as the default. Also, No matter what I seem to do in the setup it will ony play WMP music. If I set up a seperate Folder and put say...10 songs in it and than switch it to look for "ID Tags" and than point it at that folder it will just ignore that and play all songs from WMP. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? My next issue is that I can't get Neo Rage X to work. I have it set up and if I go to Emulated Games/Neo Rage X it does display the games I have but if I try to play them the screen just goes black and than goes right back to GameEX. Any advice on that would be great. Thanks in advance.

How many roms do you have for neorage? just a few that dont play well in mame? The reason I ask is for a few we could do bat files. If you have a bunch a Map file would be better.

Please post your config for this emu and we can go from there.

Also Im not to familiar with this emu. will it work from command line eg.. neoragex.exe mslug5 If so the make your rom filter *.zip and command line is neoragex.exe (or whatever) "[rompath]/[romfile]" of course now you get a game list that has zip file names eg mslug5 instead of Metal Slug 5

This is where the MAP file comes in it will map name mslug5 to Metel Slug 5 so your rom list looks pretty.

I also believe there is a setting in gameex advanced configuration to Use Mediaplayer library. Not sure right now exactly where it is but I know its there.

If no opne else picks this up (which is doubtfull Ill tell you exactly where later)

Well I have no clue about the jukebox...so someone else will need to lend a hand there.

As for the NeoRageX issue...well thats a sad tale...as far as I'm aware of there is no CLI for it...at least not that I could ever find, and using AutoIt to create a loader never seemed feasible. :(

I'd suggest ether using one of the newer builds of Mame, or Nebula, WinKawaks, Final Burn Alpha all of which are supported in GameEx and play all the same games. However rom sets differ from those used in NeoRageX. :(

They differ, but if you have a full MAME set (I'm sure you do!) you can rebuild your roms to work with WinKawaks, FBA, etc with a manager app (like clrMAMEpro). If you have the NeoRageX ROM set, you can re-build from that set too I think (don't quote me on that though).

Hey thanks for the quick resp. To answer the first guys question, I only have 3 roms for NRX. They are Kof01, Kof02, and Metal Slug 4. I use NRX because they don't work in my version of MAME(.81). I use that version and havent upgraded simply because eveytime I try to upgrade I lose like 700 games due to them not working on that version. I just tried to newest version of MAME and after a refresh it said I had something like 400-500 games. Thats a lot of lost games. Also has anyone tried U64EMU or the CPS3 emulator and had those work? Thats weird about NRX because in one of the set up options it actually lists that EMU in a drop down box. I know updating MAME would solve a lot of headaches for me but than I would have to find all those games again and Ive been out of the scene for a while and really wouldn't know where to start(I don't expect anyone here to tell me, I know thats against the rules). If it comes down to it I will just have to use the other Emus seperately which wouldn't be the end of the world but man I love this front end. Anyway thanks again.

One other thing. YOu where talking about rebuilding roms in CtrlMAME. Does that mean I can take all of my MAME v.81 Roms and "convert" them so that they would work in newer versions of MAME? I'm not sure if thats what you meant by that.

Yeah you can use clrMAMEpro to update naming with will likely make it to where you keep most games...you'll still lose some of them since there has been a lot of redumping involved since your build.

I'd really suggest getting a newer collection.
