I now have the up-to-date version of gameex, ffd codecs installed etc etc. Now my problem is that when i launch the create videos app, everything works and it starts to create videos. Great i say so i hold down escape to quit because i was just testing but no files have been created. So i launch gameex and start a game and try the shift-f12 method and it says recording started, i leave it for a min or 2 and then stop it. No video! Now videos i made with this method a long time ago play fine and are in the right location etc but no more can be created. Any ideas?

Cheers.

The create snaps feature doesn't work for every emulator. Which one are you trying to create videos for?

And do you know how to select the codec when you launch the encoder app? I actually use DivX for snaps, so I couldn't tell you how to go about fixing this if its a FFDShow problem...

Ok in answer to these questions:

"The create snaps feature doesn't work for every emulator. Which one are you trying to create videos for?"

Answer: Mame32fx

"And do you know how to select the codec when you launch the encoder app? I actually use DivX for snaps, so I couldn't tell you how to go about fixing this if its a FFDShow problem..."

Answer: No. sounds like a good place to start. If you could tell me how to that would be most appreciated.

"Hmm. Well what version of windows are you using..."

Answer: Xp Pro full admin rights to everything. Thanks though.

Well...

If you select 'Create Snaps' under an emulator, a box should pop up in the top left. You then go from 'Uncompressed Frames' to whichever codec you intend to use. As I previously stated, I use DivX. However, this only works for emulators. If you have MAMEFX in place of Vanilla MAME, the create videos option takes MNG movies, and you'll need to put in Vanilla MAME or MAME32 to take mng snaps and then switch back when you're done. The mnger only works for me with official MAME builds.

Hope that helps! :)

Hey thanks for that. My only problem now is that i get no such box. I do get a box asking if im sure i want to continue but thats it :)

So you have MAMEFX set up under an emulator tab or as your primary MAME install?

That's the problem! :)

Use MAME to make the videos then switch back to MAMEFX after the videos are made.
