Basic Install - Opening Database Connection Error

Hi Guys,

I just found this app recently and it looks great! Trouble is, I can't seem to get the app to start. So I'm a noob at GameEx, but by no means a noob to computers. Anyway.. read on.

All I want to be able to do at this stage is play NES and N64 games through GameEx. Upon installing, I chose the Basic install, and didn't configure anything like DVD, Pictures, etc... just the 2 emulators.

I get the log below, which indicates the app crashes on some sort of Database exception:

Any help with this would be great so I can start using this app

try redownloading the installer and reinstalling...other wise I'm clueless.

Okay a quick search of the forum brought up a few results...most pointed to an issue with Win2k\2k3\XP had been slimmed down with nlite?

So do you have a modified OS installation?

I've got standard Windows XP Pro running.

I use MediaPortal for my media centre software, and don't have any OS mods loaded.

blah googled and a few places suggest you reinstall .Net 2.0 along with any updates currently out for it.

By the way, in the past thishas been down to a nlited/skimmed install.

Thanks Nologic! A Reinstall of .NET framework did it!

Now I can start getting into it.
