DVD Sound Problems

Sorry a question from a newbie user

I've got everything working pretty quickly except that there is no audio when playing DVD files / or an actual DVD through GameEx

Am I doing something stupid wrong ?

Sounds like a codec problem to me. Does sound work in GameEx when not playing a DVD? Have you tried playing mp3's or arcadeambiance.mp3 in screensaver mode? If those work, I'm pretty sure this is something screwy with the codec setup.

Sounds work for jukebox, karaoke, videos etc and normal general gameex effects...

DVDs play outside of GameEx..

Is there any specific software etc I need to install

try install klite codec pack

It has every codec you'll ever need.

Also have you tried adjusting the volume in gameex.. maybe its just playing the DVD's quietly?

The installation of the CODEC pack seems to have done the trick

One last thing..

When the DVD menu comes on there is no "Selection indicator" if that makes sense...So you wouldn't know if you were on play / scene selection etc

Is this normal ?

sorry, but I don't use the dvd player, so I don't know what it looks like.
