SO i downloaded GameEX and all that snazzy jazz, got it setup, got everything running, and games-list updated... but for some reason, whenever i try to play a Mame rom, the sound is doubled... Anyone else have this problem? Better yet, has anyone had this problem in the past and know how to fix it?

Thanx alot for any help given :)

Try this:

Load the Advanced configuration program

Go into Advanced MAME configuration

The first setting: Remove "-triplebuffer " ensuring there is no space left at the beginning of the text box.

hrm.. it seemed to work for a min or so, then the sound quality started to go rough and then double up again.. after doing a search, it appears it's a problem with mame itself.

Also, i was wondering if there was some sort of " mp3 jukebox " type of thing for this... just wondering :)

Thanx for the help.

Yes, and more. Sounds like your running an ancient version of GameEx. Where did you get it from?

if you are talking about the drop-down menu with the play | pause | forward and back butons on it, it's not functioning properly, it's functionality is sporatic at best. it seems like this particular front end isn't going to work well for me, takes forever to load, almost all of the " features " are disabled, and most of the functionality doesn't seem to be too cohesive at the moment.

I'll more than likely check back at a later date and see if there are any improvements. For now i guess i'll go back to using advancemenu.

{by jukebox i meant something along the lines of a virtual jukebox, where users can flip through the available song list, and chose songs to play/queue}

That's funny... I've been running GameEx for over a year on two different OSs on three machines... I've never had a problem with the sound engine. I am using MAME 0.115 though. All the crap that's happening to MAME is making me not want to upgrade!

I have seen this when I was running Zinc and Model 2 roms that were especially demanding. But, the video was obviously skipping too. My guess would be that the system may be underpowered for the rom being run without knowing anything else.

OK, if its not for you, its not for you.. Its just nonone else has reported these issues with MAME or the Media controls, or thinks the Jukebox is not a Jukebox!! Thats why you got the author of the software showing an interest ;)

this is a total shot in the dark, but is there a way somehow it's playing the game twice? like in gameex, and in windows?

ps gameex rocks.
