bkenobi
Looking REALLY good! One suggestion if you haven't already thought of it. You have European date and number formats in the MAMEScore picture (picture 3), but many people don't use that format (primarily US I would guess). It would be nice if there was a way to switch that to another standard if possible. If it's too challenging for the first release, obviously no big deal. This is just an initial feature request for an unreleased program

Hope everything is OK at home.I have taken some pictures of controls but still need to photoshop a little to clean them up. You mentioned it's not top priority for initial release so I've been focussing on home stuff as well. I will hope to have these to you soon.So far I have the following: Atari 2600 joy, paddle, driving paddle, keypad, trackball NES controller, light gun SMS controller, light phaser Playstation controller TurboGrafix controller1

bkenobi
Hey Tom, is this going to mesh into GameEx smoothly, or will we have a bunch of work to get it going? I'm thinking it should work similar to the current CP viewer, right?

Sorry I should have mentioned this I didn't realise people were still hunting for graphics.Hey Tom, is this going to mesh into GameEx smoothly, or will we have a bunch of work to get it going? I'm thinking it should work similar to the current CP viewer, right?Yes this will work pretty much like how the current GameEx CP viewer works and of course it will mesh smoothly with GameEx This is what I refer to as a "companion" program that runs in the background. headkaze
Thanks one2three these are really good quality. I will add these in when I get some time EDIT: I might have to offer these as a separate download, the package is already huge with the graphics I have already. I have removed the backgrounds in these images though.
bkenobi
Just curious, but how will the CP Viewer customization occur? Will it be in the Theme Editor, or a seperate application, or more manual? Thanks!
headkaze
Just curious, but how will the CP Viewer customization occur? Will it be in the Theme Editor, or a seperate application, or more manual? Thanks!Part of the reason why this project is taking so long (apart from all the new features I keep adding on), is that it has a full featured CP Editor built in that is always available to tweak and edit your own CP. I have created a few of the default CP's with it and it is very easy to use. So in short, yes there is a CPEditor and yes it is full featured BTW I thought from the first few screenshots that was obvious. They are of the actual editor in action, although you can't tell I guess but you can drag all those buttons around and have a huge selection of controls to add and remove as you please. Even though I wrote the GameEx Theme Editor and it's CPEditor, this one is written from scratch and it alot more flexible. I guess in a way it will replace that, but there will still be the GameEx built in CP viewer to use while inside GameEx.
bkenobi
Sounds good. I didn't know if the ones from the initial screen shots were of the program in action or in your development environment. If you are adding a bunch of controls that will be ready to drop in, can I request you get a rotary controller in there (if you haven't already gotten it)? Thanks! hansolo77
So will this plugin actually allow you to press a CP key (like "L" by default) while playing ANY game, and it will bring up the CPViewer? Or will this really only work with MAME? I'd love to be able to bring up the "console" while playing a game on the NES or Sega Genesis, and see what cheat codes there are. Like playing Sonic The Hedgehog, then bring up the console to see what the Level Select code was.
bkenobi
That would be a cool idea. But, that relies on there being a database of cheats or combos available for consoles. Is anyone aware of any?
