Hi, i'm a newb to this and I did a search but they still can't answer my problems so I made a topic. Well anyway, I set up Mame32 version 0.90 in game ex and none of the roms I have in my rom folder are listed in the Mame games folder, I made sure to put off all of the filters and the roms even work in Mame32. Is it beacause they are zip format or do I have to change them to .chd format and if so how do I do that?

Thanks in advance,

AssassinKev

No, leave them zipped! All GameEx does is present you with a menu of your games (which is created when you "update list"), and then give the game name to mame32 to run once you choose one. When you tell GameEx to compile the list of mame games, it applied the filters that you specify in the Advanaced Configuration under the Advanced Mame Settings section.

So, there are two things you might have messed up. Since it shows no games at at, my guess is that your Roms folder isn't set correctly in the GameEx setup, OR that you haven't ever run "update list". After you check that, then my guess is that your filters are screwed up. Check in the GameEx log file to see more specifically what is happening. Welcome to GameEx!

I double checked my rom folder, updated my list for the 100th time and checked my filters. I still have no idea what could be wrong, do I need a diffrent version of Mame32? I can't post the log or anything beacause I have game ex on my laptop which has no internet...

I didn't get a game list in Mame until I set the 'favorites' path to my Mame game list ini (in your 'folders' folder within the Mame folder) and then updated the list in GE.

 I have no clue what I did but all of a sudden it works! Now, if only I can get Marvel vs Capcom working...

No idea on that one. Never played. I still have list issues: it shows all the games I have in 'all mame' games, but won't show all of each category in the sub-listings. As far as I can tell, no filters are on. Very strange.
