Games skip, audio & video

Hello, I am having difficulty with games skipping only in gameex but not in mame32 when used as standalone.

I have tried to disable/enable the bypass disclaimer option on both programs, enable/disable triple buffering, decreased audio quality, changed latency up/down & checked my sound settings in the control panel.

There are stutters, then the game will skip, sound is skipping as well.

The 2.5Ghz processor & 248 RAM worked fine before, is this relative?

Any ideas or settings to change?

I am running 0.98 because anything newer seems to give me trouble with the galaga roms, do you have that problem?

it sould not make any difference in mame version. never had that problem but I make sure

my rom set match the mame version. 106 rom set pluss mame 106 all good so far

very important if you would like all the games to work!!

I dont know yet, still at work (yuk). I notice in the list of "things to speed up gameex" the word "might" is given some special attention as if it were a "duh" of some sorts when referring to ram at 256mb so I will take the mem from my home office pc & place it in my cabinet's dedicated pc to see what happens in combination with your advice.

even tho I would think that is referring to game selecting, not playing since all is well in mame32 on its own but I am not expert by any means.

wish me luck, I have a party this weekend & this cabinet needs to be up & running smooth so I can show off!
